But in recent years, conservatives have found playing the victimhood card to be equally profitable for their own causes.

Donald Trump is a successful businessman. His residences and modes of transit are plated with gold. He has married three gorgeous women. He claims to have a multibillion-dollar net worth. He has mocked the disabled, women, Asians, Hispanics, Muslims, even prisoners of war....
Yet he constantly rationalizes his bad behavior and political setbacks as the inevitable consequence of unfair systems and anti-Trump persecution.
Disapprove of his pro-violence rally rhetoric? Hes just protecting his beleaguered voters against those big, strong, powerful Black Lives Matter activists, Bernie bros and other bad dudes.
Find his xenophobic remarks about our allies, trading partners and immigrants repulsive? Hes merely defending his supporters from foreigners who prey on them economically, culturally and even sexually. (Those Mexican border-crossers are mostly rapists, after all.)
To hear Trump tell it, he and his supporters are the most beaten-down victims this country has ever seen. The system is rigged to keep them from winning, designed to make the weak even weaker. They have been robbed, disenfranchised, bullied and insulted. With the odds so stacked against them, they and their leader are not only permitted but also morally obligated to punch back as ferociously as they can.

Poor baby Cruzer!
Funny, some prominent Cruz supporters admitted what Cruz did to Carson in Iowa and then called Carson a cry baby for objecting to the theft. They sounded like liberals with thier total lack of morality and ethics. The only thing that mattered to them was power.
Nice
Yeah exactly.
Trump is the most hated leader since Nero!
Washington Post: “Waaa waaa Trump has a voice WE can't squelch...” and he says things we don't like... waaa waaa waaa...
I like to describe it as the politics of “shut up”. It is based not on finding out what is true rather on reaching a consenses that if questioned means one ought be attacked as a bigot who should “ shut up”. The irony of ocourse is that such a consensus is itself textbook bigotry.
The real crazy thing is seeing this I assumed it was an article by a NeverTrump GOP. While I’m not going to spend a lot of time on this I will point out a few bullets for those who buy into this angle of attack on Trump.
1. Trump has ran less attack ads and less ads in general than any other candidate. He doesn’t resort to shadowy third parties to attack for him he does it himself and voluntarily goes on every media outlet available exposing himself to attack.
2. Trump has not mocked the “disabled” he mocked ONE left wing reporter who happened to be disabled and he did it in the exact same fashion that he mocks any opponent. The idea that because Trump has disagreements with specific women or people who happen to be minorities who break the law by coming illegally does not indicate that he has disagreements with all women and minorities.
3. Trump took a business valued in the millions primarily focused on low income housing which his father had built and grew it into a 10 billion dollar company and a worldwide brand. He did not simply inherit what he has.
4. Trump is the only candidate Democrat or Republican in the race who has any private sector accomplishments of note and is the only candidate who has actually created tens of thousands of jobs. Cruz and Hillary are both career politician lawyers. Kasich has no private sector history prior to his political career and the extent of it was serving on the board of directors for several corporations including the failed Lehman Brothers and no one can really figure out what actual work he did for them. Bernie wasn’t good at anything and failed at nearly every real job he had before he was elected to government. Trump’s opponents aren’t even in the same league.
Well I went on far more than I planned. :-)
Catherine,, Is that the Best you Have???
The line parroted around is that if Trump had merely taken the "100's of Millions of dollars he inherited from his father" and invested it in an S&P 500 fund he would be worth far more today. The facts don't seem to matter.
It could come from the dealer's left.
Precisely. Notice how Trumpsters justify how Trump could keep his billions while going bankrupt four times and defaulting many more, as "playing by the Rules", but it's "cheating" if Cruz does it. I await the incoming, which will simply prove my point.

Opus alert!
BWEE BWEE BWEE BWEE!
The objective in a flesh journey is to make sure 'we' are NOT the object of God's sense of humor. But as has been since the beginning the majority just cannot help themselves.
Thanks. How do you compost computer bits?
That is pretty funny.
The recycle bin takes care of that!
