Ted Cruz's presidential campaign has a short list of potential vice presidential picks that includes former rival Carly Fiorina, campaign aides announced Monday.
Cruz's campaign manager tweeted that they "have narrowed our VP candidates to a short list and are going thru the normal processes associated with picking a running mate." A top aide to Fiorina confirmed to NBC News that the former Hewlett-Packard CEO who endorsed Cruz earlier this year was on the list.
The vice presidential candidate selection process has typically been a secretive one in modern presidential politics. Candidates generally shy away from talking publicly about the vetting until they secure their parties' nominations.
Cruz currently trails frontrunner Donald Trump by almost 300 delegates.
John Kasich's campaign confirmed to NBC News they also are vetting potential vice presidential picks. But chief strategist John Weaver told NBC News, "We are conducting a deliberative process and not in public."

carly fiorina is on my short list for “obnoxious presence...and loser”.
HAHA....now we have “BIDEN”..... as a high or low threshold????
The rumor de jour from a reporter who had to fill 90 seconds, regardless of weather or not he had a story.
Bet she’s on Trump’s short list too.
PS, lighten up. This is no big deal.
“Bet shes on Trumps short list too.”
I’ll take that bet. How much?
Good grief Ted.
“carly fiorina is on my short list for obnoxious presence...and loser.”
Perfect fit for Cruz,then.
It’d be hard to prove either way wouldn’t it?
Assuming he gets the nomination, he has to go with somebody with political experience and stature in the party. Carly’s an amateur and makes Cruz look amateurish, and would anybody on the fence really decide to vote for Ted because Carly’s on his ticket?
Ted, since you’re in delusional fantasyland, why not pick Santa Claus, you loathsome idiot?
Yup, another establishment candidate supporting the establishment candidate!!

It’s all over radio and print news. Rafaels top aide announced this.

WASHINGTON (AP) - The Latest on the presidential nomination race (all times local):
4:04 p.m.
A top Ted Cruz aide says the campaign has identified a “short list” of possible vice presidential candidates. A spokeswoman for Carly Fiorina swiftly confirmed that the former business executive is among those being considered for the running mate slot.
Campaign manager Jeff Roe says on Twitter that Cruz’s team is going through the “normal processes” for picking a running mate. He did not identify others on the short list.
“PS, lighten up. This is no big deal.”
Lighten up???? Should I not post it? WTH?? It shows the kind of people Cruz would pick. Like his pal John Roberts.
Vice president of what, a snowball stand in Texas, she’ll probably screw that up too.
You are right on the money. What a team Ted Cruz & Carly Fiorina would make.......Ted Cruz ticks you off when he says “Good Morning” to you and.....Carly Fiorina also ticks you off when she says “Godd Morning” to you. I call them the brother & sister “HATE” team. They are also both Ugly on the outside (not their fault), and, Ugly on the inside (their fault, for sure)!!! Go figure!!! LMAO
And constipation of the brain.
VP of what? His local HOA?
Cruz is delusional. Seriously.
She’s got lotsa money. Just looking for money and the womens vote. Sleeze.........
He wants Carly around to run interference from getting smacked by Heidi.
