Wilkes-Barre, PA
Wilkes-Barre was founded in 1769 and formally incorporated in 1806. The city grew rapidly after the discovery of nearby coal reserves and the arrival of hundreds of thousands of immigrants. The city reached the height of its prosperity in the first half of the 20th century when its population reached just over 86,000. Following World War II, the city's economy declined and the Knox Mine disaster accelerated this trend when large portions of the area's coal mines were flooded. Today the city has a population of 41,498, making it the 13th largest city in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.

No Todays Trivia as I can barely keep up with this man posting where the rallies are with a few photos. So, like in times past, lets spend the day in prayer and meditation for Trump and his family, our precious country and the people that are the forum. Has anyone heard from our dear friend WVKayaker? Hes down under and was down under. Lets also give thanks to Jim Robinson for having the insite years ago to start this wonderful site. More than ever, its been a welcome retreat for many of us these past difficult 8 years.
If you haven't become a monthly donor do so, even for $5 per month.
What about Mike Pence for VP? Trump visited him at the governor’s mansion last week when he was in IN. Why would Trump visit Pence for a private talk?
We have been missing you over here.
Hope all is well.
Dependent upon how he does in Indiana, I’ve had Governor Mike Pence on Mr. Trump’s VP short list.
Experience in Congress and also executive experience.
I’m not sure if you’ve been watching the CNN or MSNBC, Race to the presidency, or some such series where they take a presidential contest.
It’s really excellent. Jackson vs Adams, Kennedy vs Nixon etc. The one on Truman vs Dewey was like a carbon copy of Obama vs Romney exactly.
Truman is losing big in the Summer, I mean big. He decides to get on a train and go out to the little stops. He greets the crowds from the caboose of the train.
Before he arrives, his staff gives him stats on the local news, and he throws that into his speech.
AT the convention he fires up the democrats, then going down the stretch he’s only a few points down.
Dewey all this time, is visiting places too, but gives the same canned speech each place he goes.
With a week or so left, Dewey decides to play it safe, and doesn’t attack Truman on some thing he said about republicans in general. He wanted to, but his staff said to be more presidential and be cool.
Like Romney, he lost.
Trump, is his own man. He takes NOTHING for granted. He surrounds himself with the best people.
Pence is a good choice as well.
Has the look.
He was a bit of a squish on the gay rights thingie, which was a disappointment.
You both mentioned Pence.
Roadrunner - I’m up bright and early every morning. Got in the habit of it some years ago where I’d do work before I went into work (I’m a morning person rather than a late night person). Had clients in Europe and on the East Coast here, so it worked out well if I needed to do con calls with them.
Yes, I don’t think we can argue with Mr. T and it’s a good one for you.
I keep forget to not use SC and use the name I was given by our favorite mogul - Sherman to hoosiermama’s Mr. Peabody. I’ll try to get better at that.
Best,
Sherman
HEY! HEY!!! GREAT STORY. So my son and his wife are buying a new car. I gave them my Lexus 4 wheel to trade in. Should bring 12K to 14K on trade. They found some used Honda SUV with 20,000miles for $36K. I'm thinking Man, that sound like a lot. Anyway, I told them go down there, and sit with the most aggressive sales guy you can find. Really convince him you're sincere. Then offer them $26K on the car and you want 14K trade in, THEN BE PREPARED TO WALK!
cRuz and KaSick have really stepped in it, BIG, this time.
The new media is tearing them apart.
When you’ve lost Drudge and JimRob, you’ve lost....period.
Lines in RI look long!!! So cool!!!
If he picks Hunter, Ann Coulter for one will be so excited she’ll go into labial flutter.
Sounds interesting.
The Truman race is one for the record books: Dewey Beats Truman!!—NOT!
I am glad Trump is being himself—why should he act like the GOP and the media want him to act?
They are both lyin’ losers anyway!
And they have never been the man in the arena, as Teddy Roosevelt would say.
Wow.. Ted Cruz Campaign was just on MSNBC... Said they don't need to win any of the states moving forward
At this point, the spoilers are letting it be known that they intend to disqualify Trump delegates at the convention, aiming to avoid a first ballot decision. I don't think this comes as a surprise. In other news, Trump getting more than 1237 first ballot delegates "on paper" won't be taken as a defeat either. Exciting stuff, and illuminating.
Art of the Deal.
I love dealing with car salespeople....heh heh.
Those are great. I still chuckle every time I think about or read what he said to Tony.
Here’s another I always hear at least a few times a speech:
Here’s the story...
And, there’s always the use of “folks” numerous times.
At this point, the spoilers are letting it be known that they intend to disqualify Trump delegates at the convention, aiming to avoid a first ballot decision.
Yes, they’re being very upfront about this shenanigans, now...aren’t they?
I wonder what other desperate measures the DC Cartel/GOPee will take, before this is all over.
Prayers for Trump....and, that America is waking!!
All I have to say about that is TrumPING TrumPING TrumPING ...
Yours Truly, Richochet Rabbit
Excellent advice on being prepared to walk.
My wife and I had a system—if I bumped her knee under the table during the negotiations that was the signal to get up together and head for the door. No further talking.
We never made it to any door. They came running with a better deal every time.
I chose Pence way back when we were guessing possible VP’s.
I tossed-in Texas Gov. Abbott, Indiana Gov. Pence, NJ. Gov. Christie and one other ... NOT FL’s Scott. Hmmmm. Maybe New Mexico Gov. Martinez.
Was it his son?
No, Portman’s gay son, IIRC.
LOL...I loved it when JimRob first posted Trumpisms....in an early Trump supporting post. I got the biggest kick out of picturing JimRob getting the biggest kick...out of Trump :)
