Its been nearly three years since Wendy Davis stood in the Texas State Capitol and filibustered an abortion bill for 11 hours straight, buoyed by her pink sneakers, a back brace, and the knowledge that there were so many women outside the chamber watching her fight and cheering. The bill eventually passed, Davis later lost a gubernatorial bid, and she is now out of politics for the first time in decades.
Throughout all of that, however, shes proven that shes more than willing to keep trying to get things done even when the chance of victory seems to be slim and to encourage others to do the same.
That philosophy seems to drive Deeds Not Words, a nonprofit Davis started that hopes to connect young women interested in politics and policy with organizations devoted to issues like equal pay, campus sexual assault, paid leave, and, of course, reproductive rights.

Wendy who? Is that the little pig-tailed redhead girl from Wendy’s Hamburgers?
Oh yes, that phony who was supposed to have been the Dems’ big hope to help turn Texas blue.
Oh my the little Rhode Island slut turned Texas trailer trash returns...last time around landslide defeat must not have got her attention. Guess she got her juices flowing again after she moved from Fort Worth down to Austin.
Thats a bad visual.....
I hope they all are as successful as her!
“...buoyed by her pink sneakers, a back brace, and the knowledge...”
And her Depends diaper.
We hear sad tales of women who work to put their boyfriends/husbands through graduate school (Medical School; etc;) only to their boyfriends disappear after their graduation (I knew a woman who was a victim of this cruel scam); now comes abortion Barbie who dumped her husband who paid for her Harvard Law education immediately after her graduation. Abortion Barbie’s poor ex husband cashed out his 401k to pay for her Harvard Law education. The woman is trash! Proving yourself as sleazy as the boyfriends I initially described is not a virtue despite all this nonsense of women’s liberation.
In a just world Wendy would be in prison, or swinging from a rope for her crimes.
PS: This article is pure leftist propaganda.
She knew none of those things and didn't know what the unified budget act was? I suppose just as many stupid males were in the Kroger lines, but I found the stupidity of the woman to be discouraging, being a lawyer.
Point being I wish we could all wish for smarter voters period.
Young women are going to find it tough going in terms of funding if they are not pro-abortion. Big money groups like the DNC and Emily’s List will not fund them and the GOP is notoriously wedded to its status quo incumbents over younger grass roots candidates.
Guess who is going to win more in the future?
