Ted Cruz and John Kasich issued startling statements Sunday night about their paths ahead, the first sign the two campaigns are coordinating to deny Donald Trump the Republican presidential nomination.
Within minutes of each other, the pair issued statements saying they will divide their efforts in upcoming contests with Cruz focusing on Indiana and Kasich devoting his efforts to Oregon and New Mexico. The strategy is aimed at blocking Trump from gaining the 1,237 delegates necessary to claim to GOP nomination this summer.

I was a Cruz guy initially. He is dead to me now.
I didn't suggest it was. I suggested that a majority is the will of the people.
Cruz continues to prove he is not a conservative, and he is becoming the poster boy for lawyer jokes.
Sounds like their funds are getting as low as them.
He probably well. Trump's been offering to make a deal with the establishment like Reagan did with Bush in 80, but that Koch 900mil bribe must have been too much to pass up. It's going to be war.
Cruz didn’t sign the bill to overturn sanctuary cities in Texas?
Hmmm.
I posted here what a Houston-well-to-do Christian woman told me she heard about Cruz via the legal community in Houston . Three times friends, church-going associates let her know about a husband or son that had worked with Cruz and they vehemently could not stand him. One man of great wealth held property in NYC and Houston and revealed that out of the two Trump was the better character, said he would not support Cruz...
Hi Jane!!
A lot of us were cRuz supporters, initially.
Many of us began to research the guy (I also supported him/volunteered/voted for him as my Senator)...and we not only listened to what he was saying, but watched what he was doing.
cRuz is in it purely for cRuz.
OMG.....that....is too funny.
Lets cuts to the chase.
Then why is Trump beating beat Cruz like a drum, Tex?
Hi there!!
Can you believe untrusTED has sunk even lower, with this latest collaboration???
Just when we thought we’d seen his lowest antic.....now this.
Cruz, Kasich, and the GOPe just told the American people that They will work to see that der Hildebeast gets elected before they allow Donald Trump in the White House. If their shenanigans cause a brokered convention, all hell will break out and the result will be a Democrat in the White House.
The word is out that agreeing with Cruz is a good way to get the Zot.
More at the NY Post on this treachery from Jeff Roe and Cruz...
Ted Cruz and John Kasich have joined forces in a concerted effort to deny Donald Trump the delegates needed to win the Republican nomination on the first ballot at the July convention.
The two campaigns made the surprise announcement Sunday night, signaling a major shift in strategy days before Tuesdays five primary contests.
Having Donald Trump at the top of the ticket in November would be a sure disaster for Republicans, said Jeff Roe, Cruzs campaign manager.
Not only would Trump get blown out by Clinton or Sanders, but having him as our nominee would set the party back a generation. To ensure that we nominate a Republican who can unify the Republican Party and win in November, our campaign will focus its time and resources in Indiana and in turn clear the path for Gov. Kasich to compete in Oregon and New Mexico, and we would hope that allies of both campaigns would follow our lead, Roe explained.
Indianas primary is May 3, Oregons is May 17 and New Mexicos is on June 7.
Kasichs camp said they were fully on-board with the idea, also claiming that Indiana was the key to stopping Manhattan tycoon who is currently the Republican front-runner with 845 delegates.
Our goal is to have an open convention in Cleveland, where we are confident a candidate capable of uniting the party and winning in November will emerge as the nominee, Kasich strategist John Weaver said.
Due to the fact that the Indiana primary is winner-take-all statewide and by congressional district, keeping Trump from winning a plurality in Indiana is critical to keeping him under 1,237 bound delegates before Cleveland. We will shift our campaigns resources West and give the Cruz campaign a clear path in Indiana, Weaver said.
Cruz trails him with 559 delegates, as does Kasich with 148.
The decision to work together is ultimately a major change in strategy for Cruz, who has tried to stay as far away from Kasich as possible.
#ONLYTRUMP
no I mentioned it to Maria E. leader of the Stolen Lives Project and she contacted his campaign at the time...I didn’t want to push it. His aides would not have anything to do with it...brushed me off but many were not living in the city. I think Cruz could have though. Just a point of detail here.....
In 2008, even Hillary gave path to Obama, when it became mathematically she can’t win.
Lyin Cruz is low life scum, typical CON-servative.
