Tabloid says it has proof: Ted Cruz’s father is mystery man in Lee Harvey Oswald photo

WASHINGTON -- The National Enquirer has published what it says is conclusive evidence that Ted Cruz’s father, Rafael B. Cruz, is the man photographed next to JFK assassin Lee Harvey Oswald distributing pro-Castro leaflets in 1963 in New Orleans.

The Cruz presidential campaign fired back unequivocally. “This is another garbage story in a tabloid full of garbage,” communications director Alice Stewart told McClatchy. “The story is false; that is not Rafael in the picture.”

The explosive suggestion that Cruz’s father would have had any affiliation with Oswald is not corroborated in any other way. Cuban-born Rafael Cruz is now a fervent anti-communist, but there was a time he supported then-rebel leader Fidel Castro. His son, Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, frequently relates his father’s arrest and torture by government officials and subsequent escape to the United States.

The elder Cruz ended up at the University of Texas at Austin and still supported Castro, who led the revolution that overthrew the Batista regime in 1959. Castro formally declared himself Marxist in 1961.

“The U.S. government was duped. The American people were duped. I was duped,” Rafael Cruz wrote in his book, “A Time for Action,” released in January. “When people ask me why I supported Castro in over-throwing the Cuban government, I readily admit that I didn’t realize he was a communist.”

Rafael was admittedly pro-Castro and was not resettled with 99.9999% of the anti-Castro families. It would make sense to keep tabs on Rafael whether he protested or not because he was PRO-CASTRO (communist dictator.)

It is doubtful that anyone here on this thread is trying to bring voters to their camp. Just making observations about Rafael and his fuzzy timeline and interesting path to citizenship. It’s all quite fascinating.

I found something today that I need to post on this thread. There was a post online “refuting” the photo of the guy with Oswald, saying that the FBI knows who the guy is, Charles Hall Steele, and his named statement is at the link. But if you read the whole statement, the guy who wrote the statement is not the guy people think might be Rafael Cruz. At the end, the paid white guy Charles mentions the darker guy and guesses he was also hired for a couple bucks to pass out leaflets. But the entire thing is NOT a refutation of the guy being the elder Cruz.

Great summation of some very important questions. How does any bright person run for President knowing there are so many MANY strange, unusual questions about your family and their national origins that would play into both eligibility and loyalty?

I am not big on calling people out for their religious hypocrisy. At all. BUT, Ted says he’s a SOUTHERN BAPTIST (Though many say he’s a “DOMINIONIST”, which his father---who has called Ted “The Anointed One”---claims to be; or even a Mormon, as he stood by while Glenn Beck recited Mormon-specific references, applying them to Cruz, That Cruz is the “raising of the priests” and the fulfillment of the “prophecy of the White Horse.” Or a Seventh Day Adventist, as his wife, Heidi, who has more than once referred to Ted as “The Face Of God.”)

I am Southern Baptist, raised that way. Let me tell you, Southern Baptist are very loosey goosey when it comes to what it accepts or allows in each affiliate congregation (for example, some can dance, some cannot.) BUT….THREE THINGS are not acceptable ANYWHERE to Southern Baptists: GAMBLING, DRINKING, and NOT TITHING:

Like the sex scandal with Teddy the Enquirer reported on, if there’s nothing there sue. Donald Trump mentioned this Oswald connection this morning on Fox and Friends. They looked at him like he was an idiot. Why is it that Trump is the only person in the national spotlight with the nerve to mention stuff like this. The National Enquirer is more times right than wrong and that’s a fact. Ask Gary Hart, John Edwards and Bill Clinton.

We all have watched the National Enquirer expose people over the years. The Hollywoods are always having affairs and babies out of wedlock, it’s expected.

Politicians are handled much differently. They have a very good rate of success when they sink their teeth into DC. They will leak and drip whatever they have to sell papers. That is how they draw more leads. And they will continue after the guilty parties for years.

They pursued John Edwards story for three years. He denied, the affair, then denied her pregnancy, then denied it was his baby. The NE publicly challenged him to take a paternity test and he finally did when his baby girl was nearly two years old.

With all this in mind, how did they ever possibly miss out on Bill Clinton sex life? All those stories would have made them millions.

For the record:

Ted’s opponents in Texas and others have been looking into Rafaels’ past since he won his seat in the Senate and began uploading stuff in 2013. The Enquirer only picked the story up recently. Ted has no reason to blame Trump, he has known about the accusations for three years!
