More than 340,000 have signed a pledge to stop shopping at Target, in response to the corporation’s announcement this week that transgender employees and customers will be allowed to use the bathroom that corresponds with their gender identity.
“This means a man can simply say he ‘feels like a woman today’ and enter the women's restroom... even if young girls or women are already in there,” stated the American Family Association, which started the petition.
Target on Tuesday became the first giant retailer to weigh in on an issue at the center of a heated national debate.
The announcement came just after North Carolina passed a law requiring people to use bathrooms in public facilities that correspond with their gender at birth.
“#BoycottTarget has resonated with Americans,” wrote AFA president Tim Wildmon.

All Target has to do is to lay off a few thousand employees like the oil industry has.
Sounds to me like massed angry women in the locker room could bring a world of hurt on one perv with his package.

My wife has a closet temper and if the invader causes her to come out that closet, watch out! I’ve only seen it once in 50 years and those guys are probably still running.
I just now had another thought. What about rooms for people to try on clothes? Yuck. Why would I want to buy anything a guy who pretends he’s a gal tries on, and why would I want to try on clothes when a perv can be in the next stall?
I wish this issue could somehow lead to a bonanza for trial lawyers with lots of women/children plaintiffs

I have the same problem.
This issue may effectively force every building code with different standards for male and female bathrooms to be completely changed.
A real libertarian would tell the both to (1) don’t get obstreperously in one another’s face; (2) quit whining.
Which in fact is what had been happening until someone decided to elevate this to the state, an arena that currently “liberals” seem to work a lot more effectively to their parochial ends than conservatives.
And I wonder what percentage of these pledges are in that same boat. To boycott in order to mean anything, would have to mean you had been a patron.
I’ll go to Target occasionally for a special item, but it isn’t my staple store. I might even forget that I “need to boycott it” on the rare occasions I think about shopping it.
And what is that fluctuation compared with normal fluctuation?
The other shoe is poised to drop which is probably about the entirety of liberaldom swearing to make Target their main store.
All I can say is that the battle better be worth it to wage on this level.
If you looked at it from a Jesus point of view, believe it or not your first thought wouldn’t be to send all these people to hell, but how miserable they must be not knowing God.
Just remember where this all started. It was when Affirmative Action became a no-no and morphed instead to diversity.
The lie was spread that diversity is good and we need it, so now we have to have all diverse cultures and beliefs accepted into our lives, no matter how deviant to make us ‘better’.

Finally, Target’s official policy is to no allow CC in its stores.
Its CEO says: ” it boils down to a simple belief: Bringing firearms to Target creates an environment that is at odds with the family-friendly shopping and work experience we strive to create.”
Isn’t that a laugh? Allowing perverts into women’s restrooms allows a ‘family-friendly’ experience?

Totalitarianism is about the politicization of everything, and once people’s careers can be destroyed by the New Bathroom Order if they publicly object to the once-bizarre idea of men in the ladies’ room–we’re there. Ask the now-unemployed Curt Schilling.
Totalitarianism is about using force to gain political goals. You can’t get more coercive than forcing the vast majority of people to endorse the utterly bizarre just to accommodate the allegedly hurt feelings of an almost undetectably small percentage of the population. So for the sake of each transgendered person’s hurt feelings, two thousand ordinary folk must be forced to ignore what their eyes and hearts tell them … and be publicly slandered as quasi-racist bigots if they murmur any objection.
I believe no one can prevent this from happening, just like no one can prevent murder, no matter how illegal it is.
what we are witnessing with permission to do this is morphing to the RIGHT to do this. Means you MUST allow it or be prosecuted. similar to abortion as it presently stands.
This encourages the behavior which extremely few people would like to see. It will be mostly absorbed and mimicked by the young who will be changed forever.
