More than 167,000 people have signed a pledge to boycott Target after the retailer said it would welcome transgender customers to use any bathroom or fitting room that matches their gender identity.
The boycott pledge was started by the conservative American Family Association (AFA).
"Target's policy is exactly how sexual predators get access to their victims," AFA President Tim Wildmon said in an open letter. "This means a man can simply say he 'feels like a woman today' and enter the women's restroom...even if young girls or women are already in there."
Wildmon urged people to sign the boycott pledge, claiming the policy "poses a danger to wives and daughters." He also urged people to complain about the policy on Target's Facebook page.
He suggested that Target should install separate unisex bathrooms instead of giving all genders access to facilities designated for women or men.
Target clarified its position on transgender bathrooms in a statement on Tuesday.
"We welcome transgender team members and guests to use the restroom or fitting room facility that corresponds with their gender identity," the retailer said in the statement. "Everyone deserves to feel like they belong. And you’ll always be accepted, respected and welcomed at Target."

People who have to clean public restrooms will often tell you that the women's restroom is often in a far worse state than the men's restroom. Oh, yes...
Single-user cans provided with both a urinal and a bowl were what a former employer of mine insisted on in the newer parts of the complex, and the male or female signs on the doors were there only for the benefit of visitors. The "original" men's and women's restrooms in the old part of the main building were of traditional construction, and every other year or so there was an awkward employee meeting wherein the female staff was asked to clean up their act (so to speak).
There was one solitary restroom in one area that served both sexes without any problem, but one day the ladies decided that they didn't want the only two men in the area to use it anymore, and it wasn't because the men in question were "sprayers," but rather because the women were suddenly (a new female hire was a congenital rabble-rouser) embarrassed to have a man use the room right after they had exited. The two men in question had no illusions about human body functions, but illusions had to be preserved.

we recently had an incident at our local Target store comma where a micronesian teenager kid had crept into the women’s bathroom and hidden in a stall waiting until women entered the stall adjacent so he could peek over the top of them. well this moron tried his little trick but the woman in the stall that he was peeking in on happened to be a very fit triathlete type. after raising a verbal alarm which caused the perv to flee both the toilet and the entire store , she ran his ass down out in the surrounding neighborhood , joined by a few others alerted by her shouts. the little pervert resisted and tried to pull a small knife but the group of people apprehending him wrestled him down to the ground and beat the crap out of him. true story
By demanding that restrooms be limited by biological sex instead of gender, you are actually opening the door wider to pedophiles who can simply say they are transgender and be allowed entrance because transgenders dress and behave as the opposite sex. This is like a liberal who argues that more gun laws will prevent gun deaths.
I can’t boycott Target, as I don’t shop there now. Their conduct convinces me not to start shopping there.
And every man that goes into target should use the women’s restroom.
And if you’re a guy, go use the women’s restroom on your way out.

I can’t boycott Target over this issue. I am already boycotting Target over their throwing the Salvation Army off their properties ten or fifteen years ago to appease the gay lobby. Funny how their logo looks like the “target” of gay male lust.
