MOST analysis of Donald Trumps support in the primary elections has focused on his appeal to poorer, working-class white voters, who are assumed to have lost the most to globalisation and are more open to his particular brand of populist politics. But his victory in the New York Republican primary on April 19th underscored his wider support across the partys base. Mr Trump took 61% of the vote overall (the first time he has gained over 50%) winning across all demographic groups. That was to be expected in his home state. However, averaging out his support in all state primaries (where exit polling is available) shows that richer and better educated voters form as big a part of Mr Trumps support base as those at the lower end of the income and education scales.

Is that a statement or an add-on to the sentiment of my post?
Ahh the false narrative. Simple fact is NOBODY who was not registered prior to October could vote. So your deception excluded all the new voters independents and cross over voters you knew Trump will get in the General. It also excluded all those pissed off Sanders voters who will vote against Hillary.
911 and Muslims happened so you would lose.
Wow, the Cruz spin is amazing. Fact is for months Trump has said he would act more presidential after he defeated those attacking him in the primary. With Cruz being defeated hes acting more presidential. Only Cruzers could spin that to claim he was only acting so far...
Not this time.
People have had it with politics as usual.
Plus Hillary is old and has health issues.
LOL! Bowing to political correctness is acting Presidential? Not in my book. Bowing to political correctness is pandering and betrayal of everything that Trump said he was all about, stopping the GOP Establishment.
I don’t see how these have anything to do with an AWB.
Are there private citizens contemplating using these against Muslims here?
Your numbers would only make sense if there were the same amount of Democrats and Republicans in New York.
I have read here that the Republicans are outnumbered at least 2 to 1, with some saying as high as 4 to 1. This was a CLOSED Primary and Trump got 61% of the Republican Vote.
I’m a former Cruzer, but the idea that even he received only 47% of the Vote in his Home State of Texas while a Sitting Senator gave me pause.
Texas was also a Closed Primary if I’m not mistaken. That’s when I really started to see the handwriting on the wall.
Trump won in NY without the benefit of being previously Elected to Office there. Just being a Hometown Boy doesn’t garner that mush Support. I’m still waiting for him to Label Hillary a Carpetbagger if they both end up the Nominees.
My Family came from New York, living in Brooklyn and Long Island. My Parents being Registered Republicans there was considered an oddity by both Family and Friends alike.
EVERYONE we knew was a Registered Democrat, but they did Vote for Republicans every once in a while.
Never a thought to the people of our country either.
I was for Cruz until near the end of 2015. I slowly became uneasy and disturbed about the people he embraces, hires and allows to endorse him.
Couple that with some very caustic comments, epithets about Trump and his supporters and the invective they show, I decided I did not want to be a substantive part of it not one minute longer.
It was an epiphany for me (I described it so in my declaration here). It was a revelation that really caused me to question the values I’ve had with regard to establishment conservatism with respect to the actuality of what is happening. It was personally humiliating to think I’d been wrong all these years about our so-called standard bearers speaking the words but not walking the walk.
You mean the media and their Uniparty LIES?????
Yes. Trump is pro 2nd now. he justifies his position using what happened in France and CA.

Cruz isn’t my guy and I agree. No Bernie supporter will go to Cruz. They’ll either go to Hillary or lose interest once the crusade ends and stay home.
Well, I’ve heard the exact opposite but that still means you have positive evidence. I hope you’re right. ABC
Why overthink when the serious problems that government got us into are simple? John Kerry is a deep thinker.
You were dead wrong on the South being Cruz country. You were dead wrong that when the other candidates dropped out their support would go to Cruz. Your track record has been piss poor.
It’s the media go-to every four years. Reagan was supposedly both. W was stupid. Ike was stupid. Nixon was crazy, as was Goldwater. Ford was stupid. Blah blah, yadda yadda.
Dims have no shame.
NY is a closed primary and there are many more democrats than republicans in the state.
The general election doesn’t care what party you are they only care that you are registered to vote.
