Gov. John Kasich mocked Sen. Ted Cruz on Twitter after the results of Tuesdays primary rendered Cruzs ability to clinch 1,237 delegates before the Republican National Convention mathematically impossible, a turn of phrase Cruz himself used previously to call for Kasich to drop out of the race.

“I knew when I heard him say these words he would have to eat them one day soon.”
Oh he’ll say it isn’t what he really said just like all the other times.
Two sentiments were obvious from all of them Republican and Democrat, that no one trusts Hillary and no one trusts Trump.
I was expecting some fisticuffs, but they were not in the mood.
In the words of that great visionary Walt Disney:
“never forget, that it all started with a mouse.”
“Kasich has been running for Vice-President since the beginning. “
I agree and therefore it is in his interest to have Trump come up 50 or 60 delegates short. He is then then (At least in his mind) the GrOPE balance to Trump’s outsider.
We will see if he is right
Did K call him a hypocrite?
Kasich was born in PA. He helps there too, IMO.
Trump needs to pick a border state politician for VP. It will cement the fact that he his serious about the border. Jan Brewer?

“You beat me” eh?
2 seconds would only be critical in a gunfight ol’ pal, lol
Or it could be Trump, discovering the rules in place for over a year, that now confound him, over and over again.
Unfair, Illegal, Wrong, but they are the rules. A nominee must have a majority of all delegates at the convention. Remember that the candidates suspended their campaigns, they did not “drop out”. Delegates pledged to these suspended campaigns, can vote their conscience.
No matter who the Republican nominee is, I will for for that person. Can you say the same?
And he’ll bring in the postal worker vote ;-)
“Cruzlam forbids all alcohol and drugs.”
Unless I’m mistaken while engaging in Ted-qiyya they can partake to deceive the nonbelievers.
He’ll hide behind Carly’s skirt and have her say something mean to Kasich.
Always the class act EEE.
For the last time, it is not going to happen. Cruz is finished!
An excellent question.
I shifted from Cruz to Trump weeks ago, once Cruz no longer had a practical path to a first-ballot nomination. I do not trust the establishment if the convention goes to a second ballot!
However, just for entertainment, a first ballot nomination for Cruz is not mathematically impossible. It’s just not realistic in a world where he is not likely to win the next few primaries.
559 Cruz delegates
674 delegates still out
1233 delegates total
. . .
but
. . .
66 approximately unassigned delegates
173 Rubio delegates
9 Carson delegates
4 delegates for Jeb, who still cries himself to sleep because it’s his turn
1 delegate for Fiorina
1 delegate for Paul
1 delegate for Huckabee
255 total delegates beyond the committed delegates and those still to be determined.
Cruz is not mathematically eliminated. He just needs 74% of the delegates who are not already bound to a candidate still in the race, including those remaining to be assigned, those unassigned, and those assigned to candidates who withdrew. That is a tall order when he’s going to have trouble getting a third of the remaining state delegates, and most of the unassigned delegates hate both Cruz and Trump.
