Donald J. Trump said Thursday that transgender people should be allowed to use whatever bathroom they feel most comfortable with — including at Trump Tower in New York.
Dipping into a contentious issue by taking a stand many Republicans oppose, Mr. Trump told a town-hall-style event, hosted by NBC’s “Today” show at Rockefeller Center in Manhattan, that when people go to the restroom, they should “use the bathroom they feel is appropriate.”
Mr. Trump, the Republican presidential front-runner, was responding to a question about a bill that North Carolina’s governor signed into law last month that bars individuals in the state from using public bathrooms that don’t correspond to their biological sex — the one listed on their birth certificate. Since then, there has been a backlash from businesses and celebrities opposed to the state’s action. And transgender issues have pitted social conservatives against business interests that traditionally have been part of the Republican coalition in the South and elsewhere.
“North Carolina did something — it was very strong — and they’re paying a big price,” Mr. Trump said. “And there’s a lot of problems. And I heard — one of the best answers I heard was from a commentator yesterday saying, leave it the way it is, right now.”
He added that before the law passed, there had been “very few problems” but now North Carolina is experiencing an exodus of businesses and “strife” from people on both sides of the issue.
“You leave it the way it is,” he said. “There have been very few complaints the way it is.”
North Carolina’s law, which also removed anti-discrimination protections for L.G.B.T. people, and the backlash to it, is now at the heart of the state’s hotly contested governor’s race.

In the end people get the idea of transgender / transsexual confused. I always thought transgender is before surgery and transsexual was after, after surgery I have no problem with aligning bathroom use with new plumbing, but before hand it becomes dicey.

I think what is feared is the actions that would follow if the man had malice on his mind. And “deliberate exposure” wouldn’t be any more legal in a setting like this than before. If he is a “girl” then there is no urinal there. There will be stalls. He should be eliminating behind closed doors. Wagging his member at other visiting patrons will be as illegal there as anywhere there is not consent.
Keep in mind we are talking about real laws about bathrooms. If trannies are in and of themselves abominations, and this is the driving force for why we find them uncomfortable in the bathrooms they've been going to-- so much so that it is now a major issue-- there's no reason to not apply this to Muslims too, and keep them out of the bathrooms regardless of any laws they've broken.
This is why T**** is unqualified to be president. He is an intellectual idiot. In addition, he has the discipline and temperament of a five year old.

You have identified one of the major problems with Trump -- he doesn't have a core set of beliefs and surely is not a conservative. He is unpredictable and is just as likely to turn appoint socially liberal supreme court justices as Clinton. His entire shtick is an act.

The question to All is: which GOVERNMENT agency would be placed in charge of Bathroom Pre-entry Gender Identification Inspection? Henceforth known as BPGII. Boys Purported to Girls 2.
Gives new meaning to the question “ How’s it hanging?”.
Pretty simple shift can fix this. Have a standers restroom with open troughs. Have a second all gender room with floor to ceiling walls for visual and sound privacy. Biggest issue is cost to re-engineer all the public restrooms owned by we the people.
