Donald Trump says he believes transgender people should be able to use whichever bathroom they choose.
Speaking at a town hall event on NBC's "Today" Thursday, Trump said North Carolina's so-called "bathroom law," which directs transgender people to use the bathroom that matches the gender on their birth certificates, has caused unnecessary strife.

-have 2 bathroom - for men and for women
-have 3 bathrooms, including men, women, and family
I think this tends to be based on when the building was built.
Is part of this a make work issue? A tax issue, based on the number of bathrooms?

This is further confirmation for me that his SCOTUS picks would be dicey at best.
The issue in NC isn’t just restrooms. It is changing rooms (like at a public swimming pool) and locker rooms. And it allows ANYONE who claims to be “identifying” as opposite gender the right to enter that facility, even if there are five year old girls changing out of their bathing suits. I cannot even wrap my head around how insane this is.
This is WHY this is such a big deal in NC. Coming to a neighborhood near you.
I think NC has every right to pass a law. Personally I would wait to see if a problem is even created before passing a law. I think that’s what Trump is saying. So far in my adventures out and about I have spotted exactly zero trannies in any restroom or changing area.
That is NOT what he actually said. He said if you forced them to use an “Other Bathroom” not male or female it might be considered discrimatory.

Honestly I think this whole thing is being whipped up into a much bigger deal than it really is. There is no evidence I have seen or heard about showing transsexuals in the restrooms as a problem.
First what 5 year old child is ever unaccompanied?
Second, how many trannies are there in the US? I think the answer is not many per capita.
Third, transexuals didn’t just appear overnight they have been out and about for years. All of a sudden its the end of the world.
Fourth, before you read all this stuff on FR about the issue how much time did you spend wringing your hands over it? Say 3 months ago were you even remotely worried about trannies in the ladies room? In the past 3 months have you seen any more trannies in the restrooms than you normally do? I can honestly say I have not.

Depending on circumstances that transpire, he can be transparently transgressive or translucently transactional, but always transitionally transposing and transforming, and whatever he says can be translated and transfigured to take on some kind of almost transcendental meaning.
This is sad. I think this issue is one of the most extreme homosexual agenda items out there. Arguably even worse than same-sex marriage because it’s a direct attack on the privacy rights of innocent bystanders.
The reality is most Republicans from New York are go-with-the-flow on the social issues, abortion and homosexual agenda issues. That’s the culture there. They might pay lip service to those issues when it’s easy, but they will back down if the left puts up any kind of a fight because the issues just don’t mean enough to them to be worth the effort to fight for.
I think you might be missing much of the larger point. This law allows people “identifying” with the opposite sex to enter restrooms of the opposite biological gender.
In legal terms “identifying” is so nebulous a term as to restrict no one from entering the bathroom of the opposite sex as the proof simply resides with a subjective professional/statement from someone.
My eight year old niece goes to the restroom unaccompanied in many instances. But it need not be young children. The bottom line is that biological males can enter female restrooms; who will risk the legal consequences of confronting/denying men in the current climate of “sue all discriminators”? The law restricting genders to their own biological bathrooms is just common sense in the effort to avoid sexual harassment/abuse; the fact that we have to argue about it shows how @#$%ing crazy this country is right now.
