(CNSNews.com) - Republican Donald Trump, appearing on Thursday's "Today" show, said transgenders should be allowed to "use the bathroom that they feel is appropriate."
"So if Caitlyn Jenner were to walk into Trump Tower and want to use the bathroom, you would be fine with her using any bathroom she chooses?" host Matt Lauer asked Trump.
"That is correct," Trump said.
Asked for his view on the North Carolina bathroom controversy, Trump said the state has "paid a big price" for requiring transgenders to use the restroom that corresponds with their biological sex.
"Leave it the way it is," he said.
"One of the best answers I heard was from a commentator yesterday, saying 'Leave it the way it is right now.' There have been very few problems. Leave it the way it is. North Carolina, what they're going through with all of the business that's leaving and all of the strife, and that's on both sides -- you leave it the way it is.
"There have been very few complaints the way it is. People go, they use the bathroom that they feel is appropriate. There has been so little trouble. And the problem with what happened in North Carolina is the strife, and the -- the economic punishment that they're taking."

Trump said he doesn't know if he has any transgender people working for him. "I probably do, I really don't know."
Trump noted that there's a "big move to create new bathrooms" for transgenders.
"First of all, I think that would be discriminatory in a certain way. It would be unbelievably expensive for businesses and for the country. Leave it the way it is."
Cruz stated his position. The president picks the supremes who makes the laws, not congress.
Obviously. Trump is pandering to the .001% transgender vote. We’ll see if that will get him into office, since he’ll have to depend on some group other than conservatives on Election Day .
Why do conservatives want more laws?
There are already laws against child molestation, indecent exposure, sexual harassment, etc. In bathrooms or anywhere.
Also same sex bathrooms are just as likely to contain predators, how do we police that now? We want the govt to watch our children instead of us? That’s conservative?
Someone in favor of more laws, please show me that there is an epidemic of transgenders or poseurs preying on children in public bathrooms, that justifies additional laws that are hurting states economically. Show me how more laws prevent it.
All Trump said was it wasnt a big problem and leave it the way it was. That’s a libertarian/conservative position. More laws and invented crises is a liberal position.

Huge red flag for me is Cruz is spinning like crazy trying to score political points on this. But then that shouldn’t be a surprise since this is a man who plays political football with dead babies.

The con game is what Trump is persuing. He is SO inconsistent on abortion, guranteed by tonight he will be against transgender folks in the restroom, and has no credibility from a personal values standpoint on anything.
That should cause you to question if he means he really is for a wall, is really for tax cuts (he was for tax raises before, so who knows?), is really for the military (that vet money he raise, yeah, still waiting to be delivered...), and frankly is being honest with anything he says.

I know you’re not addressing me, but I am compelled to reply.
If I believed for a second that you cared for an instant about the good of me or Trumpinator, I’d listen to you.
But this is nothing more than trying to hurt people that you have a vendetta against.
I didn’t read all the replies but Trump’s campaign is built on bringing back jobs, the economy, borders, and immigration. He’s not going to get too involved in these social issues or let his campaign get dragged down by it especially after the abortion flap a few weeks ago.
He’s already stated he’s pro life. He’s already stated he’s going to install conservative SCOTUS.

Seems like they could be prosecuted for harassing, whether the harassing be in a restroom or somewhere else.
I wonder if the transgender situation could be taken care of by properly defining what ‘harassing’ is.
