A long fought battle between GOP front-runner Donald Trump and the RNC establishment might be coming to a close after the staggering victory Trump had in New York.
reuters.com reports: The New York real estate mogul's win Tuesday in his home state over rivals Ted Cruz and John Kasich was an important milestone for RNC members, who said it could put him on a pathway to acquire the 1,237 delegates needed to win the nomination outright without a contested convention.
"There are a fair number of RNC members who were discounting his chances of success when we met in January and now see that hes building a substantial lead and may in fact get to 1,237 before we get to the convention," said Steve Duprey, an RNC member from New Hampshire.
"The New York results were such an overwhelming win," Duprey said. "It's impressive. That's what I've heard people talking about."
RNC members said Trump could help improve the climate by taking steps to end the bad blood that has developed between him and the committee's leadership, including RNC Chairman Reince Priebus.

I was an adamant Cruz supporter until he blamed Trump for Bernie protesters harassing people at Trump rallies. Inexcusable.
A blog that has to be excerpted?
Who would have thunk it? Establishment parasites wanting to make a deal to keep their skins? Do they remember the one fault to which Donald J. Trump has admitted is “holding a grudge too long”?
Just maybe they have come to the realization that their time is limited.

So much for defending free speech. Some Constitutional scholar, huh?
That was the moment I deserted his camp, too, though I was already getting the willies hearing he had taken on Neil S&L Bush to his finance team.
The closer Trump gets to the nomination, the more they will come around. They do not want to foresake someone who might be the next Power in the Oval Office.
I guess that means the RNC are good guys now. You know, ‘cause, when the RNC backed Cruz they were e—vil.[/sarcasm]
A few minutes ago, I turned on Mark Levin. He was blaming Trump for Bernie protesters harassing people at Trump rallies.
And Trump has done so much more to divide the party. It’s a Demoocrat’s dream come true.
Kasich thinks he is important because of the delegates he holds.
If, however, it looks like Trump might go over 1237 before the convention, that will be the worst news Kasich can get. He could end up with zero influence/positioning.
Trump in fantastic mood today, it’s bigger than just winning NY. He’s acting like this is one week away and then its game on with Hillary!
That was when I picked Trump over Cruz too! There were other facts pushing me that way at the time but that was the "aha" moment.
Yep!!

Ditto.
The first "Cruz Cringe" came on the shaming mailers to the old people. I just hate crap like that. The final straw was siding with the BLM disruptors by blaming Trump for the disruptions.
The exact same thing happened with a couple of people who are very close to me. They were Cruz die-hards (fanatics, actually), but that incident switched them to Trump.
I was still a Cruz guy at the time and was willing to cut him some slack. That's not to say I was pleased -- far from it, I was very disappointed. But hey, it's for the presidency, the stakes are high.
Wow, that incident really seems to have struck a nerve with a lot of very pro-Cruz people. Far more than I expected.
A smart move if they want to win local and statewide elections.
Then he doubled down on Chicago when he pretended that Lewandowski was a mass murderer for brushing aside a reporter..
Yeah no kidding.
Are we going to hear the same vile accusations about Trump that were made about Cruz selling out, being a GOPe stooge, etc
