Congratulations to our presumptive nominee, Donald Trump!
Great job in New York and throughout this campaign. Cruz and Kasich are now mathematically eliminated and just like all the others who were mathematically eliminated should concede and drop out so we can all unite behind our nominee and prepare to defeat the godless America-hating traitor Hillary Clinton in November.
As conservatives and patriots, it's time to put bruised egos behind us, heal our differences and act united in the best interests of our nation. The media and the GOPe will try to keep us divided, of course, but we must not fall for their treasonous tricks.
A divided Republican party will ensure Hillary waltzes into the White House in November.
Freedom is never more than one generation from extinction. Hillary would be a third term for Obama and would complete his mission of completely destroying America.
Do not let freedom expire on our watch!!
I'm praying this forum and our loyal members will now be shifting into high gear to defend our freedom by uniting against the treasonous enemy within.
Let's get Trump over the 1237 mark and finally take the GOPe completely out of the picture!!
Then onward to the presidency in November!!
That is my biggest concern about Cruz. Everyone says the judges have cleared that up. No, it hasn’t been, really. The dems, hillary or bernie, will be using that to wipe the floor with Cruz. That is what I think, anyway. Legit or not, it will not matter.
I understand that Trump may be your candidate for various reasons, but let's at least be honest about what he stands for.
The cited claim is dishonest by omission. Therefore, your appeal for honesty seems rather disingenuous.
“Some people just committed suicide on FR this afternoon. I dont get it; what would life be without FR?!”
I don’t think they weren’t “people”: I think they were paid Cruz trolls who had hijacked dormant accounts and were simply bowing out in a nasty way because they had been check-mated.
Jim wants us all to now unite with Trump and stop promoting Ted Cruz.
I think it’s way too early to do that. Cruz is still in the running and we don’t know for sure what will happen.
Unity here on Free Republic would be sweet but it would not affect what happens out in the real world where things are decided.
Until things are decided, I think we should be able to continue to discuss the pros and cons of the candidates.
“That’s already been taken care of by Trump. “
it’s time to stop attacking trump here: it gives aid and comfort to hillary clinton. please leave this site if you cannot stop attacking trump and go elsewhere where your anti-trump, pro-hillary posts will be more appreciated.
But we do know what CAN NOT happen...Ted Cruz going into the convention with 1237 delegates.
I could be wrong but I think the thrust of this is that Cruz has lost. For his supporters to continue the divisive rhetoric (both sides btw) will not help the country in the end. And that debate, Cruz or Trump, ended when Cruz was eliminated from reaching 1237.
It’s not like they’re both still in the race anymore than Bush, Walker, Perry, Paul, Carson, Fiorina, Huckabee, Christie, and others are still in the race. But Cruz and Kasich won’t admit they’ve lost and drop out. Instead they fight to find a way to overturn the will of the people. I think Jim probably doesn’t want to help them achieve that.
Unity or calamity.
It’s about the math.
Please add me to your list as well, if you’d be so very kind. Thank you. ;)
.
Unite - and defeat Hillary.
If Hillary gets 4, she’ll get 8.
System is setup for incumbents and she’ll giveaway whatever it takes to secure support for reelection.
Hillary doesn’t know shrt about jobs, that much is known.
.
Can one be considered "loyal" if their only hope of legitimate success is a "Hail Mary?"
Yes and more than once....but I do not make decisions as significant as the Presidency based on what one is ‘saying’ they will do but on their history of what they have done to support their positions...their consistency and why they believe what they do....... He doesn't have a history as that...just the opposite...his history has shown me he's opposed what is significant to me in every way....it doesn't add up to the claims he's makes now.....therefore it's a matter of believing the man and I don't because he's flipped more times, during his campaign, than someone making pancakes. He seems to go with whatever the political winds at the moment might benefit him in the eyes of the voters...and that's scary...and risky... Further I vote the 26th here in Pa and certainly Trumps had time to otherwise convince me he's the man of the hour.....but of course, as his habit is becoming, he's doing very little here in this state to win it. Not showing up for the biggest gathering the state has indicated as well he wasn't interested in "working" for the votes here.
By the way the rules aren’t established until a few weeks prior to the convention. There are two committees over the year the first one advises and gives their imput to the rule committee.
Why would they have more debates when only one candidate can get to 1237? What a bunch of morons.
If you think through the math, there is no possible way Cruz will win on a mythical second ballot either. He’s not going to keep his 700 earned delegates and find 600 plus more to switch to him. It’s just not going to happen.
Cruz is done barring a miracle.
I know math is hard, but it’s not that hard. It’s a matter of common sense.
I have to disagree with this a bit. I see no problems with Cruz supporters sharing their thoughts and reasons. We should be able to discuss our differences. I think the zot comes in when someone declares how they will not support the nominee unless it is X, basically supporting killary. I bet in most cases, it is not the first declaration against us. And, likely, instances of rudeness involved too.
Yes, I support Trump. No, I do not want Cruz, any longer. But, I would hold my nose.
True, we wouldn’t want it to get too dull!
Anyway, I hope everyone is welcome, regardless.
No one who willingly shilled for and/or voted for either Juan McCain or Darth Mittens has any credible standing -- moral or intellectual -- to criticize support for Donald Trump, on any conceivable level.
And I say that as one who actually was verbally scourged and spat upon by numerous fair-weather "conservatives" hereabouts, four years ago, for refusing to support shameless lifelong Planned Parenthood advocate Romney... so, there's that, right there. ;)
Pragmatism is the intersection of loyalty and reality.
