Morning Joe regulars know that Mika Brzezinski has made a virtual art form out of her facial expressions and body language. On today's show, Mika put on a particularly demonstrative display of horror while asserting what she sees as Ted Cruz's lack of appeal to women voters.
The question on the table had been Donald Trump's surprisingly strong showing among women in yesterday's New York Republican primary. The Donald scored 59% of women voters, almost equaling the 63% of men voters he garnered. Gene Robinson was stumped to explain it. When he posited Ted Cruz as the alternative to Trump, someone to whom voters would be expected to "flock," Mika broke in: "I don't think women are going to flock to Ted Cruz." Mika accompanied her comment with animated expressions, looking to the sky, taking a deep breath then sharing a horrified look with someone offstage to her right. That is almost Unreal coming from Matthews and how three weeks ago he was doing all he could to hit him with the Gotcha Abortion question. I doubt Trump is inclined to do another interview with him, but if he does he will be ready.
Your Kissinger story reminded me of a true quote from the late actor Cary Grant, when asked why it was that he was endlessly being pursued by women and “what was his secret”, he said with a straight face “I tell every lady showing interest in me that I am sadly impotent ... and they can’t wait to try and prove me wrong.” LOL

56% of like 10% of the Republican base that showed up to vote in New York isn’t what I consider flocking to anybody.
It'll be interesting to see how it works out. It does seem that Trump does better among women with the privacy of voting.
It might be more that a lot of those women have been shamed by gaggles of women. What I'm saying is it's in the DNA, to want to be able to trust a can-do guy. Add that to the impression the women around Trump make. They're independent and strong, but seem to enjoy having a guy who takes care of them.
Cruz will be constantly running in 3rd place for a while now.
Time for him to stand down, as he cannot win in the first round (unless both Trump and Kasich step aside).
That's a lot of Trump's appeal. On that desert island? Putin would tame tigers and catch sharks for food. Trump would build us a resort and treat us like royalty. Both images work for that deserted island.

Of course. But that still doesn’t back up women “Flocking” to Trump. Which they aren’t.
Mika has more talent, brains and class than 90% of the MSM put together - she’s an updated version of Cokie Roberts. Class act...
I guess the women are so dumb that they don’t realize they are not supposed to be for Trump, even though the infotainment industry tells them that they are not.
