Donald Trump has gotten a lot of attention over the past 12 hours for referring to the Sept. 11 terror attacks as "7/11" during a speech in Buffalo. It's an awkward, amusing slip-up -- but it's just a slip-up.
More interesting, perhaps, is something he said shortly afterward.
Trump was talking about "New York values" -- a means of dismissing Ted Cruz in Trump's home state. As he did during the debate where Cruz first made the point, Trump was using the attacks as a way of espousing what it is that New Yorkers stand for. Unusually for him, he was reading from a sheet of paper.
Then he offered this aside.

Thanks for the ad-hominem, dumbass.

Indeed. My wife sometimes bugs me about spending so much time on-line, reading the demented defenses and perverse praises uploaded by the supporters of a candidate who shall be nameless. I tell her that not even the best-paid comedy writer in New York or Hollywood could ever come up with some of this material. The beyond-parody apologeticism and the pretzel-twisted rationalizations are just too precious to miss.
wouldn’t that make Buscemi a New York Actor if he was there on 9/12?
This guy must be your brother from another mother:
Trump transcript: “Everyone who helped clear the rubble and I was there, and I watched, and I helped a little bit. But I want to tell you, those people were amazing, clearing the rubble, trying to find additional lives. You didn’t know what was going to come down on all of us — and they handled it.”

He was a NY firefighter on 9/12 and returned to being a Hollywood actor 3 months later.

From what I remember Trump had his hotels send the searchers and workers food during this effort. These type of gestures where very common in NYC after the attacks.
Hey, let's get our terminology straight:
You were supposed to say Lyin' Ted Canadian.
Shame on you?
Also, every time the Cruz name is mentioned, you're supposed to work in some kind of reference to wife Heidi's work for the hated investment bankers of Wall Street.
That’s because you hate trump, mostly out of jealousy, you want what he has,and you will never have. Very sad...
Stealing Trump Delegates no doubt, or in the early stages of figuring out how to do it.
I’m new at this, give me a break! ;^)
(see profile page)
Talk english...
I think you may have jumped the snark with this thread! ;^)
Trump helped financially and other ways(personnel, construction, demo contacts) with the clean up and restoration of the area..
I should look into it. Loved it.
He was in dc. He was like the rest of us that lived in DC that day. They lived in arlington. They knew people who died. What is your criticism?
But it was. It took people days to get home. Everyone had to be creative to get rides and help others.
I had family up there at that time. And after we finally got in touch, my brother mentioned that Trump pull his men off a bunch of jobs and brought them and the heavy equipment to Ground Zero.....Must have cost him hundreds of $$$$$... That’s helping a little
The Interview link show DT very serious and controlled when you can see the emotion within
