Top Donald Trump Campaign Aide Quits in Shakeup
NY Times ^ | 4/18/2016 | Maggie Haberman and Ashley Parker

The national field director for Donald J. Trump’s campaign — who is a loyalist to Corey Lewandowski, the embattled campaign manager — resigned in a letter to Mr. Trump on Monday afternoon.

“I want to express my deepest gratitude for the opportunity to serve you and your campaign over the past 7 months,” Stuart Jolly, the director, wrote in his resignation letter. “The journey has been extraordinary and many experiences on this journey will never be forgotten.”

Mr. Jolly, a retired Army lieutenant colonel, was especially loyal to Mr. Lewandowski, whom he had worked with previously at Americans For Prosperity, the free enterprise advocacy group associated with the billionaire brothers Charles G. and David H. Koch.

In the letter, Mr. Jolly stressed to Mr. Trump that his departure “has nothing to do with you or Corey’s staff, because I have never worked with a finer group of people.” The letter, and a major staff meeting on Saturday, were reported by the website Politico.

“The friendships I have made through your campaign will last a lifetime; my hope is that ours will as well,” he wrote, calling Mr. Lewandowski “one of my best friends” and offering his availability in the future “if you ever need me for any reason.”

But the resignation was seen as a sign of distress among those loyal to Mr. Lewandowski about recent changes in the campaign that have curtailed his influence after a string of losses in states like Wisconsin and at state conventions to select delegates.

Mr. Jolly, whose first national campaign experience came this cycle under Mr. Trump and who was deployed to help the campaign in New Hampshire primary after a disappointing second-place finish in Iowa,

Here's how it works in the real world of the MSM:

The New York Times makes the call about ‘what's news’ then all the little sycophants follow that line...

First the Times, then local papers, then large news networks, then local TV news... To quote one MSM outlet like the New York Times is to quote all of them. It's why there's so much contempt for the MSM.

This cheap ‘news tactic’ was impressive when few people got their news from more than one or two sources... that's not the case today. The ‘chain’ is obvious’...look at it.

Thanks for illuminating to me as to how corrupt the “News Sources” are.

That explains something I had wondered about; Vanity Posts.

It makes perfect sense now. If the news sources just make up the news. Then made up news on all the vanity posts, are just as good.

And thank you for your service Lieutenant.
_______________

For the record, a lieutenant colonel is not a lieutenant. It is an insult to call a lieutenant colonel lieutenant.

They don’t ‘make it up’ the MSM plays ‘follow the leader’... Ever hear the phrase ‘it’s not news until the New York Times says it’s news’? If the Times has a slant on the story it might get localized, but it’s generally not changed.

I’m not saying they’re all lemmings... or too lazy or cheap to hire their own reporters and do original reporting... I’m just saying there’s a pattern...

The NY Times can’t get either of its brain cells around the idea of making changes to get better results.

Could this have anything to do with a lack of ‘due diligence’ on the part of the Trump team regarding the varying ‘primary’ processes in several States?

I agree. I do not know what he will do with it if it is given to him. I suspect he would lose handily as it is becoming painfully obvious that Cruz has real issues getting even republican voters to vote for him in most areas.

Embattled, really? The only thing in his record is the now discounted "assault" BS brought on by some snotty whiney reporter, that the NYT sensationalized.

They don't report the news, they create it.

Trump kicks hothead Lewandowski to the curb in favor of jihadi enabler Manafort.

If the only reason he is losing is because of the rules, why the shake up?

Cruz fired half his staff during the Iowa steal from Carson. Then they all went on tweeter and said what a fake and phony POS he is.

Well, if he wants to leave, he jolly well better not let the door hit him in the a** on his way out.

First in thread to use Jolly as an adverb.

The RNC Rules are fine. It’s the fraud occurring that needs to be managed.

With Manafort and Wiley, TRUMP will be learning how to fraud-right-back.

There are the RNC Rules, and then there are the Rules of the Road, which are not in the RNC Rules.

The Cruz jihad rules are about to be engaged. Finally.

The people have obviously picked their nominee and are demanding that TRUMP answer fraud in the same manner, in equal measure, that it was committed.

Suits me just fine to see the field leveled. How about you?

Donald has been needing to do this since February.
I’m encouraged he is doing it now. This may mean he’s taking the campaign more seriously. Don’t spend too much time being mad at Cruz for his delegate manuevering, learn from him instead.

Where did the Lieutenant come from? I was a LT when I started but left that rank behind after promotion to Captain and beyond.
