Donald Trump supporters walked out of a delegate election in Georgia Saturday to protest a vote that robbed Trump of all of his slated delegates from a district that he won in the primary.
A Cruz-Rubio alliance at the district convention in Buford, Georgia helped to knock Trump supporters out of the districts national delegation altogether. Cruz supporters implied that Trumps people would embarrass the district at the convention in Cleveland. Then things got heated.
This morning, I attended Georgia 7th Congressional District GOP convention as a delegate and a Donald Trump supporter. We were there to elect the 3 delegates and 3 alternates to the national convention, Ronnie Kurtz told Breitbart News. Per the primary results, two slots were for Trump, and one was for Rubio. Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX)97% Cruz finished third in the primary and had no delegates allotted to him Nonetheless, the hall was stacked with Cruz delegates.
On the first ballot, the party voted on a delegate slate that would have taken away one of Trumps delegates but would have, at least, still given him one representative. That bloc would have given Trump supporter Debbie Dooley one of the slots and a Cruz supporter named Carolyn Fisher another slot, with a Rubio slot going to local party convention chairman BJ Van Gundy. But Cruz supporters voted down that slate.

Oh, like Trump doesn’t like to win?? That’s why he throws a temper tantrum every time he loses...and blames everyone but himself.
Typicel narcissistic behavior.
I’m PROUD that I voted for Ted Cruz for my senator and that I cast my primary vote for him! He’s totally committed and is a total conservative.
But...vote your conscience. That’s what Americans do, and thank God can STILL do!!
Watch ...
So let me get this straight, we have a guy running who, up to date, hasnt won a majority in any state. He cant organize well enough to keep dedicated delegates on the slate for the convention. He seems to think the game is over once he scores a goal and then walks off the field.
Somehow people think he can win an actual election AND lead the party much less the free world? How does that work?
Such a precious comment from a supporter of a candidate who has won basically nothing at the ballot box. Cruz has won 2 of the 20 biggest states. Trump will have won 13 of them after 4/26. Trump is so awful yet over and over again he beats Ted Cruz like a drum at the ballot box. What does that say about loser Ted Cruz? A lot of I’d say. He’s the worst general election candidate in generations.
Not worth exchanging with xpurt, he’s not here ... sincerely ... shall we say.
The people who support Cruz know he cannot win in the general. Cruz supporters want Shillery to win. A vote in the primary for Cruz means we will get her heinous. It matters not whether the GOPe dumps Cruz for Romney or Jebito, Hillary wins. And Cruz supporters know that and do not care one whit.
Yep. Cruz knows he can’t win and is trying to Goldwater Trump so he can run again for POTUS in 2020. Just as Cruz supporter Romney prefers Obama to Trump Cruz selfishly prefers Hillary to Trump. How principled and conservative of him.
>> Texas is losing a lot of its luster with me.
Yeah, Texas ain’t all you Yankees think it is.
Its a hard life, really. And the people are strange and unfriendly. And the weather sucks and there’s no jobs and few recreation opportunities.
I’d strongly encourage you NEVER to even THINK about moving here.
Just. Sayin.
>> Many analogies could apply.
Sure, but are they valid?
The horse race analogy is irrelevant, for example.
Since Rubio dropped out Cruz has won 3 out of 4.
To be sure, that will change next week. Don’t kid yourself though, if Rubio and the rest had dropped out earlier things would look different.
Of course, there's not a Cruz supporter on this forum who sees anything wrong with that.
I vote for Trump and then never again for a single GOP candidate ever again in my lifetime.
I reckon it similarly...
A few years back, here in Northeast Massachusetts, there was a squabble that was essentially political, pitting folks to the east against folks to the west. It spun out of control, with too many people seeing how the squabble could benefit them. To manipulate the outcome, some parents got their little girls to go ape-s... I mean, go bananas, in public, accusing the political opponents of all kinds of "nasty"ness and "lyin". When it was all over, about 20 folks were hanged, and one crushed to death.
Not that it matters much now, but the folks in the west were the accused, and the folks in the east were the accusers. A map of the event and trial:
I highly recommend you read the report linked by freeangel above.
Not nearly as nefarious as you might think.
You keep telling yourself that.
Pardon, I had my east-west inverted. Point being tho’, it was apparently politically biased, as depicted by the map (and tons of other evidence available today).
I’ve been saying the same thing.
It’s amazing how they twist themselves into pretzels, isn’t it?
No they are not
“isn’t factually honest”
But it is the way the whole campaigna has been run by repeating factually dishonest stories.
Seems to me he isn’t even trying to get actual voters to vote for him any more. He doesn’t even talk about the issues, just bashes Trump and issues talking points to his supporters. The only way that makes sense is if someone made him a huge promise...hmmm
