Cirque du Soleil said on Friday it was canceling shows in North Carolina over a new state law that it called discriminatory, the performance group said on Friday, becoming the latest entertainment act to take a stance against the measure.
"The new HB2 legislation passed in North Carolina is an important regression to ensuring human rights for all ... Cirque du Soleil believes in equality for all," the group said in an online statement.
North Carolina last month became the first state to enact a measure requiring transgender people to use restrooms and locker rooms in schools and other public facilities that correspond with their birth gender instead of the gender with which they identify.

Once again: If men treated women’s bathrooms the way they treat their own the women would be screaming for an end to this nonsense in no time.

I wish I lived in North Carolina. It would be good to find out there are many many things I can do without. Springsteen and Cirque would just be the beginning. I would sit back and say it is good not to have those ads and others blaring at me to buy their goods. Hold the line North Carolina, peace and tranquility are in front of you.

Not too much better than NC in the spring. Perfect weather. Azaleas are at their peak this weekend. It’s about as good as it gets.
Good friend of mine is married to a former opera singer. He was working for the opera company when they met. When he asked her out she replied in surprise, “why! aren’t you gay?”
Oh, and the show cancellations? Media is making a big deal of it. In the real world however, if you asked the average North Carolinian, the general response would be “Who?” or “Who Cares?”.
Outside of the news, and FR, I don’t think that I’ve heard one person mention it. Talk about a big nothing of a story......

Or if our side were half as good at using pressure tactics against these companies as the homosexuals, this also would stop. The left knows how to get companies to knuckle under their demands, we don’t.
