I’ve already told my elected representatives that if the GOPe continues on their path toward a contested convention I will not vote for any candidate with an R next to their name.
Next Tuesday can’t come soon enough to slap that Cruz smirk off his ugly mug. Let’s see how he does does when Patriotic American voters vote. I think it is appropriate that New York will be the state to make Cruz unable to make 1237.
As I posted in my duplicate thread:
I’m sure the average voter was paying attention a year ago when the GOPe decided to change the rules.
Arrogant elitism in action in USA elections.
There is only one party, The Establishment.
Well. I thought there were no Trump supporters in Colorado. Ive been asking all day for the numbers of Kasich and Trump votes and no one knew. All the Cruz people act as if there was not one single vote for either Kasich or Trump.
There actually were Trump supporters in Colorado??
It’s a better system than letting Democrats “cross over” in open primaries. I think New York at least has the right idea in making people register for the party in the primary 8 or so months before the vote is held.
Those who cast the votes decide nothing. Those who count the votes decide everything."
‘Loss’? Try ‘theft.’
If the “party bosses” are betting that average voters won’t show up at the caucuses, then isn’t the best way to beat them by...showing up?
Its all fake. Why even have primaries and caucuses where millions wait in line after taking the time to drive to a poll location. This whole thing is a joke. The republican party looks like a joke.
But if you think you can have a party without voters, go for it. I can tell you that JEB! didn't do so well with that.
the colorado caucus process is a sick, insider, anti-democratic joke. About half a dozen people show up for each precinct caucus, and elect people to attend county assemblies and Congressional district assemblies; the county assemblies elect people to the state convention. The CD and State assemblies then elect delegates, who are supposedly unbound.
A couple thousand people out of a population of 5 million participate.
if all registered republicans actually showed up, there wouldnt be enough meeting rooms to hold them in the entire state and the caucuses wouldnt work. in fact, the GOPe is counting on just a very, very, very few showing up. thats why the reserved caucus rooms are always so very, very, very tiny.
family members who have children to take care of, meals to prepare, and work to prepare for dont have time to waste on a meaningless process where party insiders are going to steal the whole thing at the end anyway.
on the other hand, colorado is a mail-in ballot state for ALL elections, so a few hundred thousand would have voted in an actual primary, whereas the caucuses were held on a weeknight when people have to take care of their families and then go to work the next day.
btw, if this is such a wonderful process, shouldnt all of our elections for everything require everyone to show up at 7pm to 8pm on a Tuesday night in order to vote?
My dad was a life long Dem. I used to argue politics with him and he would tell me, “The Republicans only care about the rich, the Democrats are for the little guy”. I used to tell him the Democrats were phony and didn’t care about anything getting power through government.
Sadly, we were both right.
I wonder if anyone has contacted Tom Tancredo on this? I would be interested in why he ran under the Constitution Party for governor against Cickenpooper and took second place OVER the republican.
I would bet he locked horns with the crooks in the GOP in that state.
What a sleazeball. It's the Colorado rules that are unhanded and manipulative, and intentionally designed to disenfranchise the voters and allow party insiders and activists to pick delegates loyal to a candidate of the insider's choice.
I would suggest a simple fix. Spend a Saturday night drafting up a new party, new icon, new theme, and new symbol...open up on Monday with the “Real-Republican Party” (RRP). Denounce the GOP as RINO and use mostly Twitter, Facebook and the internet to get the message out. Require a Alexander Hamilton bill ($10) to officially join and to serve as a yearly fee. Pick out five or six towns in Colorado to hold a yearly conference, and openly campaign against any candidate that the state GOP supports. Put up local enthusiasts against GOP nominees....up and down the state.
Why not take the next step and allow the Central Committee to determine who becomes the next president?
It’s amazing, AMAZING how many people on FR are in favor of a totalitarian overriding of the will of the voters, even just ignoring the votes cast, just because their guy gets in.
I thought we were a republic.
Therefore, be it resolved that:
The Colorado Republican Party forbids any of its delegates to the Republican National Convention to vote for Donald Trump for president or vice president on the first ballot or any other ballot, and
The Colorado Republican Party asks its delegates to national convention to pledge on their honor to do everything in their power to help secure the presidential nomination for someone other than Donald Trump.
