In the race for the Republican nomination, Donald Trump would seem to be in the catbird seat. He has won the most states, the most delegates and the most votes by nearly 2 million.
He has brought out the largest crowds and is poised for huge wins in the largest states of the East, New York and Pennsylvania.
Yet, there is a growing probability that the backroom boys will steal the nomination from him at a brokered convention in Cleveland.
Over the weekend, Colorado awarded all 34 delegates to Ted Cruz. The fix had been in since August, when party officials, alarmed at Trumps popularity, decided it would be best if Colorado Republicans were not allowed to vote on the partys nominee.
After all, these poor folks might get it wrong.
In South Carolina, where Trump swept the primary, a plot is afoot for a mass desertion of Trump delegates after the first ballot.
The Republican Party in Georgia, another state Trump won, is also talking up delegate defections.
In state after state, when Trump wins, and moves on, the apparatchiks arrive to thieve delegates for Cruz.

No, because the purpose of the placeholder is to prevent Trump from getting 1237 on the first ballot. So the GOPe couldn’t “use Trump” for that, because he would have won 1237 on the first ballot if not for their $600 million in negative ads against him.
Do they have any idea how ugly that is?
Corrupt to the core. It it ever happened even those drooling in cups would figure out this whole deal is a corrupt charade, which does not include the voters.
The republican nominee will not receive my vote if they’re playing those games.
I am now a proud independent.
They don’t care, because they control the votes — as we just saw in Colorado. They are in the Club, and we aren’t. They vote on their President, we don’t.
It’s like they are all in the Boy Scouts, and We The People are in the Girl Scouts. We can’t vote on their club’s officers, and they can’t vote on our club’s officers. Their club controls all the money, power, and laws. Our club bakes cookies.
Not a chance. The GOPe is terrified of what might happen if they give the nomination to someone other than Trump or Cruz if they both legitimately fall short of 1237. You can smell the flop sweat in their pathetic flood of articles justifying not nominating the voter's choice. They're holding their noses and supporting Cruz because it's their last chance to stop Trump. If they could just rewrite the rules at will Cruz wouldn't rate a second glance.
Their contingency plan if they can't block Trump from 1237 is Hillary. That's a lot less dangerous than openly defying the voters.
So if Trump wins the nomination, the GOPe will funnel a Billion dollars to Soros... Soros will run a Billion dollars worth of anti-Trump ads all over the country until November... and when Trump loses to Hillary, the GOPe will claim innocence, and say "I told you so" to the voters.
They won't be that obvious. They'll use "conservative" SuperPACs promoting a globalist agenda acceptable to Rupert Murdoch and George Will. They might even run a third party candidate.
Thanks for your kind words, might i also note your ignorance is only surpassed by your stupidity, keep posting and prove me right for all to witness.
Huh? You forget that Trump still has a shot at 1,237. If he gets to 1,237 in committed first ballot delegates, it's game over for the gopE.
The gopE wouldn't take that risk. The game was to block Trump now and to do that they needed a block of candidates capable of getting to 1,237 before Trump does. That's why they threw in with Cruz. They know that Cruz realistically does not get to 1,237, but he gets enough to block Trump, and that's all they care about right now.
Lying thieving scum. We need a list of their names and a short bio on each. Call them out. Shine the light on those cockroaches.
In other words, the party only tolerates elections when people vote for their candidates of choice. That's how voting worked in the Soviet Union, come to think of it - they had elections, but everyone knew the outcome.
Since 1988, the RNC and the GOP has had a lock on having its candidates of choice nominated: Bush, Dole, Bush, McCain, Romney. If there was a grassroots populist/libertarian challenger, the RNC would send faux populist/libertarian stalking horses to split the vote and derail them. It was a nice gig for a while - fooling voters into thinking that they were picking candidates while the game was rigged.
This time, things didn't go according to plan because the establishment vote was split early on. So the GOP establishment resorts to desperate measures: having delegates from non-voting states go to their candidates of choice, or selecting delegates who will vote the party's way at the convention.
As I said before, the RNC's motto is "you vote, we pick."
In reality, these delegates may as well be for Jeb. They're only "for" Cruz to the point that Trump is derailed from the nomination in the second round at the convention. Come round three, they'll drop Cruz like a glowing coal and vote for Paul Ryan or Jeb Bush.
Right now, the RNC must be wishing that it had a big block of Superdelegates like the Democrats have. That would make stealing the nomination from the voters so much easier.
Bernie is behind by only about 200 pledged delegates, but Hillary's actual lead is over 700 thanks to superdelegates. If Bernie were ahead by 200 in pledged delegates, it wouldn't matter because the superdelegates would make up the difference and give Hillary the nomination. I'm sure that at this convention, the RNC will decide to create a big block of superdelegates to make sure that if another Trump comes along in a future election, there will be absolutely no chance that any future non-establishment candidate has a shot at the nomination.
Even if Trump has 1237, the party will change the rules to make it a super majority needed. No way will Trump(or Cruz) ever get the nomination. It simply won’t be permitted by the bosses.
