The St. Louis County Republican Caucus was held today at the Missouri River Township Caucus at the Westminster Christian Academy near highways 40 and 270 this afternoon.
Lloyd Sloan was at the conference today.
Here is his firsthand account:
There were two slates that were voted on today at the convention. One was called Cruz and the other Trump. So there was no confusion there. The vote took place by a public count. Its when there is a standing vote and everybody is counted off. It is pretty above board. The vote was tied, 27-27. But a few people in the center of the room did not vote. One guy got up and voted for Trump. So Trump won the standing vote.
I proposed a motion to combine the two slates. The chair chose to ignore my motion. It was seconded but the chair, Mark Dunn, decided to ignore the motion.
At that point the chair entertained a motion to do a secret ballot because he was a Cruzer and the wrong guy won. The motion was presented by the head of the Cruz delegation who put together and submitted the Cruz slate. It was seconded and voted on.
And, surprise! Cruz won the secret ballot!
At that point I led a small group of Trump people from the room, saying, You wanted a divided party. You got one.
The delegates plan to contest the results. We are collecting evidence to show what exactly happened.
I saw what I saw. I walked out. It was highly irregular.
Ted Cruz lost Missouri to Donald Trump.

Such a man of class and character LOL
You must be a high school kid?
Unions resist secret ballots because they are dishonest, and wish to use coercion to control elections.
People only vote honestly, and freely if they have a secret ballot.
No surprise that Trump people hate them.
Right now it is the Party of Romney. It was once the Party of Reagan but the Party of Romney has laid that to rest. It is more aptly described now as the Party of Flies.
The presidential nominee of the party takes over as head of the party. I call the forthcoming party the Party of Trump.
The Party of Trump will be all about honor and ethics, about putting Americans first and about being very tough with anyone or anything that does not put Americans first.
Cruz is going to give lawyers a bad reputation.
See #245 up thread.
A Cruzlem is descriptive of supporters of fascist tactics. There was a time, as lodi90 explains, that such a derogatory term was deemed a bridge too far to use against Cruz. Not anymore.
The Cruzlems are those registering their approval and support of the Cruz/Establishment delegate steals, through breaching caucus rules, changing ballots, all to shut out TRUMP delegate candidates. It is similar to the Muslim fiat, with no recourse.
So squeeze your Left foot into that tactical approval shoe. If it fits, you now know why.
What’s the use of voting? Your vote doesn’t count and your delegate is up for sale.
awn. Politics is a blood sport. If Trump cannot deal with this, how will he deal with the Clinton machine? Bitch bitch bitch, whine whine whine.
Just fight fire with fire and prove that your campaign can withstand this political onslaught. Time to get to work Mr. Trump. The nomination has to be won, it isnt going to be handed to you.
Interesting that I might infer that you are saying basically it is fine to do whatever it takes...lie, cheat, steal because that is the world of politics...Interesting that this is coming from the “Cristian” (and I use the term loosely) candidate’s campaign. But then Ted has now teamed up with Bush GOPe...Romney, Gramnesty, et al...so it really isn’t a Christian campaign any more is it?
If GOP wants to ignore elections and just chose a candidate, it is time for a third party where the people’s votes actually matter. People work tirelessly to get out the vote...and citizens make time to read up on the candidates, and wait in line to vote, and we pay for the elections....Why?
For what purpose if it is to be stolen later by slimey GOPe operatives.
.
Buyer’s remorse has lots of Trump delegates holding their breath for a second ballot, so they can do the right thing.
.
I’ll tell you one thing, if he loses the presidency and “unwillingly returns to the lowly senate”, should he run for the senate again, I will not vote for the four flusher. He’s cheated us once...........if he runs and wins again, Texas is a loser for it.
Calling your buddies to gang up on me and call me more names? I do not sink that level and I don’t engage in fascist tactics. If what Cruz is doing is wrong, why has Trump hired Manafort to do the same thing?
Hysterical video. Dumb cats don’t know what to do and I love cats.
I’m afraid you’re right Michael. I’ve never watched politics before, like this year. Hoestly, we are dealing with some high-end crooks. It’s all about money and power and to Hades with anything else. We are tuly in deep voodoo
How pathetically cynical. Also, you are comparing apples to oranges. There is always the threat of military force behind international negotiations. What do you expect Trump to do in the face of this delegate-stealing corruption, hire mercenaries?
.
Romney didn’t have an incompetent crew.
Trump appears to be using circus roustabouts for the delicate stuff.
His campaign manager is a fired game show host. (good luck on that)
Honor and ethics would require that you get both sides of the story. Have you done that? Or do you believe everything that you read and want to believe? We have a guy on this thread who says that the story is a lie.
For some reason the words "honor and ethics" are not normally associated with Trump.
If Donald wants a Party of Trump he should have run on a third party ticket.
You must be so much fun at a party.
We shouldn’t pay any attention to polls comparing Trump or Cruz to Hillary or Bernie. Far too early in the cycle for that.
What we need to pay attention to are the Republican primary and caucus results so far. Trump has shown incredible strength in the South (sweep) and the highly populated industrial North (winning all but Wisconsin). He will have enormous strength in the upcoming PA, NY, and NJ primaries.
Ted’s strength so far has been mostly in the sparsely populated Western Plain States, the Mormon Mountain States and Texas.
As past election results have shown, the to winning in 2016 will lie with Ohio, Michigan and Pennsylvania.
It is this writers opinion that there just isn’t any way Cruz can win these states.
Watch the video.
Spare all of "us" the oratory and post the link to your video.
