Cruz may be a U.S. citizen but he is not a natural born citizen. A natural born citizen is a child born of TWO citizen parents on U.S. soil or military base (overseas).

Has anyone ever asked him why he has certain records sealed?

Interesting that his mother’s name is listed as Wilson rather than her maiden name on Ted’s Canadian BC. Of the decade prior to Ted’s birth Eleanor spent a year in the USA. She spent four years in England and four years in Canada.

Meet the Parents:
What was Mom’s allegiance to America?

What was Dad’s allegiance to America?

A Cuban national, loyal to Fidel.
Flees Cuba for reasons unknown.
Free/cheap ride at University of Texas.
Graduates. Obtains political refugee status.
Marries US citizen, fathers two daughters.
Evades VW draft by a Canadian work move.
Marries 2nd US citizen, fathers Ted in Canada.
Becomes a voting taxpaying Canadian citizen.
Returns to USA (post VW) as a Canadian citizen.
After ~50 years USA citizenship is completed 2005.
Ted enters to politics & remains Canadian until 2014.

“A natural born citizen is a child born of TWO citizen parents on U.S. soil or military base (overseas)”

Close but no cigar. Let me fix it for you:

A natural born citizen is a child born of TWO citizen parents on U.S. soil.

As I have said in the past on numerous occasions. To be an NBC, without question, for absolute certainty, is to be born of 2 citizen parents in one of the lower 48 states.

Alaska & Hawaii are too new as states that someone could be old enough to have been born there when they were territories. Territories and possessions have different citizenship applications and applicable laws that “MAY” be a problem as to natural born citizen status.

Being born overseas on a military base or embassy makes no difference. Natural born MUST be born in the country, on US SOIL. (an embassy or military base ARE NOT US SOIL!)

The only difference is that you would be born a NATIVE citizen not requiring to be naturalized when returning to the US. That’s IT. NOT “natural”, NATIVE.

McCain was NOT eligible. He was born in a FOREIGN country just like Cruz was. McCain was not even born on a military base. He was born in Colon hospital, Colon Panama, not even part of the Panama Canal Zone. (which doesn’t matter anyway, the Canal Zone was NOT a US territory).

All these things are VERY complicated. “Common knowledge” on this subject of citizenship and especially natural born citizen status, are ALWAYS WRONG. Without intense study nobody knows about this.

A natural born citizen is a child born of TWO citizen parents on U.S. soil or military base (overseas).

Not according to the founders. When the founders passed the very first acts of congress, they included the naturalization act of 1790. But rather than speculating on their intent, lets let the founders speak for themselves by quoting from the act;

"the children of citizens of the United States that may be born beyond Sea, or out of the limits of the United States, shall be considered as natural born Citizens: provided, That the right of citizenship shall not descend to persons whose fathers have never been resident in the United States"

Now since we KNOW that Sen Cruz's dad did in fact, reside in the United States, and we KNOW that Sen Cruz was born a US citizen AND has never needed to be naturalized, we KNOW that he would have met the founders letter of the law as well as the spirit of the law.

The law doesn’t require both parents to have been born in the USA. The law requires only one parent to be a citizen. Some age and time in country requirements as well.

Incorrect. The touchstone is citizen from birth, which is one US citizen parent, and irrespective of which particular patch of dirt is involved. See the court ruling above your post....
