Ted Cruz said Thursday he will not apologize to Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell for accusing him of lying last year, despite suggestions from Senate colleagues it would help them unite behind his campaign.
"That ain't gonna happen," Cruz told CNN's Dana Bash in an interview that aired on "Erin Burnett OutFront." "And if the Washington lobbyists want to see that happen, they can hold their breath a long, long time. My focus is on the American people and uniting Republicans behind shared values and a shared vision." Cruz has presented himself as the candidate best poised to unite the Republican Party against Hillary Clinton in November. But he has struggled with his own colleagues in the Senate, winning limited support from Republican senators.

Ray, I’ve just been told that you are a GOPe Bush supporter.
When questioned Cruz first allowed Fiorina to answer, to the astonishment of the reporter who asked “Do you have firsthand knowledge of his marriage?”
Fiorina concluded, then another question: “Senator Im sorry, this is a very serious question about your character. Will you just if the answer is, ‘Yes, Ive always been faithful to my wife,’ can you just say so please?”
Cruz answered: “It is total lies, it was planted by Donald Trump’s henchmen, and I don’t think the people of Wisconsin or the people of America have any interest in tabloid trash.”
Cruz is no different than Bobby who was caught eating all the cookies.
> Ray, Ive just been told that you are a GOPe Bush supporter.
Pay attention: “I have never been a GOPe Bush supporter.”
See how easy that is? A straight forward answer.
Did you expect: “That is a total lie! I dont think the people of America have any interest in tabloid trash.
Donald Trump is a GOPe McConnell supporter, and stuck up for McConnell.
“Trump has long praised Mitch McConnell, the man who is the embodiment of why people are fed up with the party and attracted to Trump in the first place. While conservatives were fighting to get rid of McConnell in the 2014 primaries, Trump said, “It would be a shame if he didn’t win, because he has such power, it’s so good for his state.”
It comes as no surprise, then, that late last year Trump criticized Cruz for acting like a maniac when he called McConnell a liar. How does Trump plan to fight political correctness and the culture of the D.C. establishment when he has championed the mastermind of the GOP establishment and is offended by the non-politically correct criticism of its leader?”

Do Donald Trumpsters REALLY know what kind of person they are supporting?
Look FRiend. You are the one that came back to ME with “everything you said is bullsh!t” claim, not me about something you said.
I still maintain that a man of character and integrity does not hide behind a skirt (Carly) when asked on-camera about any possible unfaithfulness. This happened, you can’t deny it, and you can’t obfuscate it by saying he “stated he has been faithful.....”.
Such an interesting question, Trump told The New York Times. So whats your next question?
Most likely Cruz didn't want to dignify such a "do you beat your wife" type of question.
Hardly a "still beat your wife" question. It was a "have you EVER" question. To me that's a pretty easy man question for a man to answer (yes or no) not hiding behind Carly Fiorina's insertion into the PR fray.
Your obfuscating. So it's not a "still beat your wife" question, but instead a "have you ever beat your wife" question.
Mitch McConnell: Why no, the Senate wont pass a resolution affirming Cruzs eligibility like it did for McCain
In all my years I have never, ever heard to your misstatement of “still beat your wife” as how you did it. I assumed it was just an error or flaw. If it was really intentional, then what you said really made no sense then.
BTW, now you’ve gone from obfuscation to outright diversion from the original point.
“Did not”
“Did to”
Two wrongs make a right?
Please.
No, you're still doing everything you can to avoid the point. As I said, it's a "have you ever beat your wife question".
To such baseless questions, some people don't dignify them with a response. It doesn't necessarily mean that they are guilty of ever beating their wife.
No, please yourself. You miss the point.
I'm saying both were correct not to dignify such baseless questions.
But if you want to say that both were wrong, then we'll have to agree to disagree.
You just won’t get to the fact of what he didn’t do in the face of a good opportunity to rebut live and on TV, will you.
Have it your way. I stated my point about integrity and being a man. You chose to hide behind minutiae and your awkward phrasing and “dignity such or other”.....It’s okay. Run on off now and play like you won.
I politely said that we disagreed.
But you don't seem to have the integrity to say the same. Instead you claim I'm "hiding", or "running off".
So have it your way. I too will offer my opinion of what I think your problem is. What seems like "minutiae" to you is simply a point that you aren't able to get. But that doesn't surprise me about somebody who accuses somebody of infidelity based on such flimsy evidence.
Yes, the very model of propriety and politeness.
