Charles Hurt: Ted Cruz Is the ‘Henchman and Handmaiden of the Establishment to Block Donald Trump’
Breitbart ^ | April 7, 2016 | John Hayward

Posted on 04/07/2016 8:47:03 AM PDT by maggief

Drudge Report editor and Washington Times columnist Charles Hurt took a look at the state of the Republican presidential primary on Thursday’s edition of Breitbart News Daily with SiriusXM host Stephen K. Bannon.

Hurt said the Republican Establishment loves talking about convention rules, floor fights, and the fine points of delegate behavior because “it allows them to avoid a far deeper and more important problem they have, and that is that they are completely out of touch with Republican voters.”

“They opened this huge avenue for Donald Trump, who isn’t like them, who’s an outsider, who is flamboyant, and is a force unlike anybody else,” he continued. “They allowed him to walk in, and the guy was one hundred percent in tune with voters on everything.”

(snip)

“Having covered Ted Cruz, and what he has done in the Senate ever since he has been here, to see him now as the henchman and handmaiden of the Establishment to block Donald Trump?” Hurt marveled, scoffing at the suggestion that the Establishment is actually moving in Cruz’s direction on the issues or that they would allow him to win the White House and become the nominal leader of the Republican Party.

“It is not going to work,” Hurt declared. “All he is doing is, he’s doing their work to prevent Donald Trump from clinching the nomination.”

OK all you Freepers who posted against Obama being a natural born citizen on countless threads. Raise your hands so that we can count the number of hypocrites on here.
Natural Born Citizen = citizen father + citizen mother + born in US (military & diplomats & travelers excluded)

Then there’s Obama = foreign father + citizen mother + born in US (maybe)

Then there is Cruz = foreign father + citizen (maybe) mother + born on foreign soil

Didnt Cruz announce his candidacy long before Trump anyways?

To believe that the GOPe “establishment elites” would fall in line with Cruz is something that someone who is either high on something or just making a sarcastic remark...

To believe otherwise, you have to believe that the last few YEARS of Cruz's life in politics has been one giant deception - that his filibusters, Senate death threats against him, calling Mitch McConnell a liar on the floor, and all the rest that inspired HATRED against him was all done so that in 2016, he'd be a trump card to be played to foil Trump's nomination bid.

That view would be the one helped along by narcotics. It is much more believable that the GOPe has swallowed their pride to support Cruz. I say this understanding that the GOPe thinks Cruz won't give them the a$$ whipping they truly deserve, at least not as hard as Trump will, but they've chosen their poison.

Do you? All you say is that they have to pick one or the other, and that is just not true. They don’t have to and I strongly believe they will pick neither.

The GOP hated roofieRaphael not because they feared him, but because Eduardo is a bigger AHOLE than the rest of the Gope combined.

You’d have to be a AHOLE to run in an American presidential race as a Canadian.

I guess you reject the premise of this thread then.

Good, we are in agreement.

Cruz has realized that he needs whatever help he can get...No matter who it is...That is exactly why he is no bowing and kneeling before the GOPe...

It is obvious to anyone who isn’t wearing blinders....

That is because he is too busy poisoning the well of Cruz supporters. Believe it or not, he will need them to win in November.

I think it’s the other way around. Cruz super pacs have been hitting every state with non stop anti Trump ads. More like cruz poisoning the well. I’m at a point where I’d rather see trump bring Rubio on. He was forced to get out while Kasich stayed in. A trump-Rubio ticket would screw them all.

D E S P E R A T E, much?

TRUMP is not the one propped up by the DC Cartel, being bridled and ridden by anyone in DC, but has shaken their strangle hold of power.

Cartel Cruz owns a legislative that moved the Cartel agenda forward in DC.

Now, the Cartel owns him. Live with it.

Most Conservatives are not an intellectual flock of geese that can’t see the obvious.

He’ll take that village by topping out at 13 percent -— in a LANDSLIDE!!! historical victory after a week of excessive spending to beat Trump, unleashing women moonbats who write “open letters”, Michelle Fields and the brutality of nearly losing an arm in the most faked-up story of the year, and his work-mom Carly scolding reporters for asking about his infidelity.

#winning #13%ers

I see its still impossible to deal with a Trump supporter without them resorting to infantile cracks.

Just like your icon.

Except of course the RATs had their primary at the same time so I suspect that most of them were voting for Bernie/Hillary. Cruz did very well in the urban areas, which traditionally votes RAT. So, there’s that.

What? the editor of the Drudge Report is Pro-Trump. Noooooo can't be so. Next you are going to tell me Sean Hannity and Laura Ingraham have been sniffing the Red Hat. Wow. Who would have thought?
