Republican presidential front-runner Donald Trump said he is "95 percent" sure he would pick a veteran politician for vice president if elected.
He said he would choose somebody that can walk into the Senate and whos been friendly with these guys for 25 years, and people for 25 years and can get things done" in an extensive interview with The Washington Post published Saturday.
So I would 95 percent see myself picking a political person, as opposed to somebody from the outside," he said.
Maybe you did not notice but the participants at the closed-door meeting between Trump and the RNC looked pleased after it. That indicates they came to a deal.
The most likely deal is they get to pick the VP, and they will let Trump win. However the act is to make it look like Cruz will lose this gracefully and with honor thus helping to pull the crusaders back in to the GOP for the general.
1. Choice 1- Senator Jefferson Beauregard Sessions III
2. Newt is number 2 Choice
I hope he picks soon before end of primaries

Either way, if he participated in it, he's gone over to the dark side.
Just like Trump says, they talk a good game to get elected, how they are going to stand up for the people. Then they get to Washington, and see the trappings of the oligarchy, the wealth, the graft, the gold, the perks, the parties, the women---and they say "I will make sure I do whatever is necessary to NEVER leave this place!"
Win win!
Sorry Ted.
++++
LOL. You are correct albeit not intentionally. Ted is cut out for the job he will soon have. He would never be satisfied with playing second fiddle to some ex-TV personality.
Congratulations in advance to President Ted Cruz, winner of the GOP nomination on the third ballot. Same as Lincoln.
I seriously doubt Trump would let the RNC idiots to pick his VP.
I’d take Democrat Joe Lieberman over “Republican” Lindsey Graham.
Lieberman is one of the few politicians who still loves his country more than his party.
95% means it’s safe to bet half the farm on it.
Newt for Chief of Staff...Sessions?
This TN thing was already in the pipeline before the meeting.
Oh, no. Trump revealed. He thinks we need politicians.
I did see Tom Cotton’s name on that list for Sea Island. I was disappointed, but wondered if they were trying to reel him in and was hoping he wouldn’t bite. Sigh. Something sure does happen when people get to Washington.
Issa has said terrible things about Mr. Trump. Makes that choice unlikely.
Who’s willing to have their lives deconstructed, ruined even, by accepting the nomination for VP of the United States? We’re so horrible to each other in this political process. Who would want the job?
LOL. Duped by trump goin’ full on Kasich
John Kasich.../sarc
Yes, it will be a member of the establishment, which means his entire campaign has been a farce....
It’s Hillary...perfect fit. :o)
Thank you for your info and input.
Hope you’re right.
FRegards ....
