While stumping for GOP front-runner Donald Trump, former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin was speaking to a group of mostly establishment conservatives, and she ended up silencing the room after revealing a damning secret about Sen. Ted Cruzs past that he didnt want out.
During her speech, the audience remained quite quiet as Palin explained to them the importance of not falling for deception, which they would be doing if the supported Cruz and his weak and opportunistic position on immigration. Evidence of his position, as Palin explained to the crowd, was when he accompanied Glenn Beck in McAllen, Texas to hand out gift baskets to illegals.
Almost immediately, Twitter blew up with mockery of Palin as establishment conservatives circled the wagons to protect their guy. Check out some of the replies:

So now every times Palin bombs in front of an audience of Republicans - which is pretty much every time now, as Palin helped Trump lose in Iowa, Alaska, and Wisconsin in 48 hours - her fast-dwindling band of supporters will claim the poor reception is due to “establishment” types overwhelmed by Palin’s truth bomb.
When I heard about it my thought was much ado about little. It seems more like "Love the sinner, hate the sin" than some sort of malfeasance. Yeah, we object to them being here illegally, but we don't hate them as people.
Apparently, to a Trumpkin you are not really anti-illegal immigrant unless you are willing to look at an 8-year old illegal immigrant child and tell them they are a loser, murderer and rapist, and then personally throw them bodily into the Rio Grande. The concept of treating them with compassion and dignity while enforcing the law doesn't occur to a Trumpkin - you have to treat them like filth and scum, or you aren't really opposed to illegal immigration...
Nothing I said was spin. The two videos at these links taken the day of each event show Cruz saying exactly what I explained. The great thing about Cruz is that you don’t have to spin for him.
I know that is how it was intended, the problem is that Beck is unstable and any publicity stunt he comes up with is likely to backfire. I think that Cruz needs to show more of his human empathetic side and this probably was why he went along with it.
IN fact, Lyin Ted voted for GangofEight bill which, thank God,
was dropped by House after Eric Cantor was defeated in his primary.
****************
Where are you getting your info that Cruz voted AYE on S. 744 in 2013?
The vote record shows Cruz voted NAY
You are the one lying. Ted Cruz never supported the gang of eight bill. He was one of the people that fought hardest against it.
Stephen Miller (former aide to Jeff Sessions) speaks truth about Lyin’ Ted and his support of ILLEGALS and H1B visas..and so much more.
Watch & Listen if you have the courage to discover the truth about Lyin’ Ted.

What I find hilarious is how cruzettes use any sliver of hope for their guy to insult and demean anyone who doesn’t see him as you do.
I was more than neutral until the slob started being thrown around. Of course I meant what I said, but I also refuse to sit by and listen to lies being spread.
I’m learning cowboy, people get dug in and are incapable of moving off their dime. I had hoped for better but I didn’t anticipate Teddy turning into a GOPe stooge.
I do know where he stood 3 years ago, thanks for the reminder. What I also know is where Cruz stood just a few months ago - ‘we’ll have a conversation about that’ regarding the illegals already here.
He’s a slow learner OR a fraud. I’m seeing fraud - bought and paid for and now yapping what his masters tell him to.
Almost humorous. Grasping at straws. Dead “news” by sunup tomorrow. ;-)
I’ve got a 12 lb rat terrier that can hear the metal gate opening out front from the basement. Ear piercing bark makes you imagine a 25 lb mini-pin. No worries!

Name calling Trump supports in support of illegals? How principled and conservative of you.
Illegal aliens are not immigrants. Thank you for proving Cruz is “campaign conservative” on this issue. He has no intention of ever keeping his campaign promises on the border or immigration. And Cruz supporters like you are just fine with that.
Lyin Ted Cruz is the biggest “campaign conservative” of them all. And it’s not even close.
How does it feel to be an establishment stooge in bed with Mitt Romney, Jeb Bush, Lindsey Gram, Paul Ryan, Carly Fiorina, Nicky Haley, Golden Sachs, The Club for Growth and the entire globalist GOPe mega donor class against those of us fighting with Trump to preserve the USA?
Well, my bunk would get awful crowded if that was the case.
As far as "...against those of us fighting with Trump to preserve the USA?" goes, has Trump even read the Constitution?
Has your boy who said (in Iowa) he would keep the EPA to enforce the "Renewable Fuels Mandate" even a CLUE?
There, alone, he stated he would use an Agency with NO Constitutional Authorization to TELL every American what to put in their gas tank (not gasoline, but alcohol) and redistribute the TAX MONEY raised from Americans as a SUBSIDY to pay those who produce the fuel adulterant.
Is that the "America" you are so eager to preserve?
Sounds like bid'ness as usual to me, just a different figurehead with different 'winners'.
That the GOPee cling-ons have aligned themselves with the only other potentially viable candidate in the race is predictable. That their donors, in desperation, are putting their money on Cruz--because he isn't Trump is no surprise. They don't want Cruz, either (you may forget, but Cruz is the other 'outsider'--he wasn't well liked on The Hill because he wouldn't go along with the good ol' boys), but they have no other way to stay afloat--even as they kept Kasich and Rubio in the mix to split off votes from Cruz. For once, the establishment is stuck voting for a Conservative.
But you don't want an Original Intent Constitutionalist. You are angry, to the point not of just wanting America to return to its Constitutional roots, you want paybacks, you want to turn the tables, and that makes you no damned better than someone who made the mess we have. You just want it 'your way', not theirs. Deep Down, you want what you see as a benevolent dictator, unconstrained by Constitution or Congress, who will get done the things you think should be done, without regard for those who disagree with any fine points or matters of law.
Trump has promised things a President is not authorized by the Constitution to deliver. Appropriations have to originate in the House of Representatives, be passed by the Senate, and only then can he sign off on them. I guess Mexico is going to have to pay for his wall--because the USA is broke--even if he can get an appropriations bill through Congress.
Power Corrupts, and any who study the history of the man who tried to hire the attorney representing the lady whose house he was trying to seize through eminent domain to fight a competitor's attempt to perform a similar seizure while the first case was being adjudicated has no moral compass other than "winning" (whatever that is at the time).
You would unleash such a personality as the 'leader of the free world'? Give him the power to call up your sons and daughters and have them fight his wars?
Give him access to the 'football'?
Maybe he will give you one of the shovel ready jobs building the wall.
As for calling me an "establishment stooge", well, apparently you haven't read very many of the posts I have made here since 1999. Few here are as pissed off at the GOPee as I am. This year they have robbed me of my voice (no primary, no caucus), and will never get another dime from me, and quite possibly not my vote either. Any third party candidate has a presumption of being better at the State level.
Why do you continually act like your guy is in the lead? He’s NOT. He losing...badly. And by the end of this month, his race will only be to try and steal delegates in a brokered convention.
Establishment Stooge - Why not? When one is fighting tooth and nail to elect Paul Ryan. And do not deny thats not the Crusader goal with your “Trump is a PoopyHead” 24/7 attacks. Nobody is that dumb.
There, alone, he stated he would use an Agency with NO Constitutional Authorization to TELL every American what to put in their gas tank (not gasoline, but alcohol) and redistribute the TAX MONEY raised from Americans as a SUBSIDY to pay those who produce the fuel adulterant.
That runs roughshod over the Constitutional authority of the United States' Federal Government.
Cruz was voting on a Bill, in Congress...which, whether you like the vote or not, is his Constitutional duty.
There is someone here with a similar screen name.
I haven't been posting much here lately because the atmosphere has taken on the smell of stockyards.
SO link 'em or just be a liar.
I voted no on cloture because we should have insisted on amendments to put real teeth in this bill. Ultimately, I voted yes on final passage because it may delay, slightly, President Obamas ability to lift the Iran sanctions and it ensures we will have a Congressional debate on the merits of the Iran deal.
97 other Senators voted for the Bill, one abstained/not present, one against.
Without this bill, there is no review, Sen. Bob Corker (R-Tenn.), chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, said during the closing debate, which shut off a bid from younger conservatives to toughen the language even if meant a collapse of support for the oversight. No bill, no review.
Many wish the bill was stronger. I dont disagree with them, but this is a piece of legislation worthy of our support, McConnell said Wednesday during a floor speech. It offers the best chance we have to provide the American people and the Congress they elect with power to weigh in on a vital issue. (same source)
My apologies for not just pinging you to the original answer.
