It is true that a trade deficit subtracts from a countrys gross domestic product. G.D.P. measures the value of goods and services produced within a countrys borders, so when a country is selling less stuff abroad than it buys from abroad, the country is making less stuff, and as a result there are fewer jobs. This piece of the Trump theory of trade is true.

Proving my point. Utter confusion about the difference between political borders, required for a sovereign nation, and open economic competition across borders in the marketplace FREE from government interference.
Neither you nor Trump nor anyone else in favor of protectionism can explain how tariffs address the core issues of why businesses are fleeing this country and the resulting slow growth of GDP. Tariffs and protectionism actually LOWER American consumers standard of living.
Well I believe increasing American manufacturing once again is a terrific goal, and a terrific argument.
We need to be for America once again.
“Increasing American manufacturing” is not an argument. It is a conclusion. The argument is the rationale of how you get there.
Libertarianism is little more than utopianism for the Right. Doesn’t happen in this lifetime. Stand up, push back, against the libtards. It’s okay...it’s your country. For now.

But the issue is it not free trade.... it one way we do not have equal access to the overseas market they have access to ours
just like open borders it’s really not open borders is one way we don’t have access into foreign countries like foreigners seem to think they should have access into ours
ultimately the one of the primary reasons the federal exist.is for Defence of the country..... economic war is just another form of War... if we’re being defeated economically by foreign powers we need to address it
Get rid of big government first and foremost.
We need tax reform, regulation reform and tort reform. Make the US a good place to do business.
Remove government obstacles that chase businesses out of this country. Help businesses by stopping the predatory government practices.
Then use tariffs to help the citizens who work for the businesses located in the US. People should have opportunities here.
National sovereignty
National economy
National citizenry
Globalism is inherently against Us and in favor of the World.
and tariffs duties and other things restricting or controlling access in and out of are markets is not unconstitutional the founding fathers did that and in fact it was the originally the primary revenue sources
“Argumentum ad personam is a flawed argument. You should know that.”
Well, at least I know what it is, which seems to be more than you can say.
Privatize profits, and socialize the costs is the name of the game.
The free traitors don’t even attempt to hide it anymore.
You could take away all of the bars to entry for the US business: cut taxes, eliminate regulations, ban unions, eliminate the minimum wage, create dirt cheap energy prices, and it would still do no good.
You can’t compete against slave labor ruled over by communist regimes that own and subsidize producrion.
Financial interests are drown to communist regimes like a moth to a flame. It’s a win-win for them.
And it’s not just the “cheap plastic crap” these regimes are making. No, they’ve really moved up the food chain over the decade.
We have a multiple-variable picture here, as well as a deal maker proposing to come to the helm.
We might be able, with the option of a stick, to sell China on the carrot. We conduct ourselves on the basis of something that is more like barter than unilateral spending.
When there is a net outflow of capital and wealth from trade the country and people become less wealthy.
When there is a net inflow of capital and wealth from trade the country and people become more wealthy.
That is an excellent point too.
Many jobs fled these shores because they were getting just too darned expensive to keep up, at the same time socialist countries came around offering to sell us trinkets dirt cheap.
I think that this is a major factor egging on the H1B phenomenon too. Other people’s money tends to flee being confiscated.
so I’m going to say when it comes to trade I’m following the founding fathers original intent constitutional logic
Well, you’re proving my point with the utter confusion about the difference between political borders, required for a sovereign nation, and open economic competition across borders in the marketplace FREE from government interference.
Also, you cannot explain how tariffs address the core issues of why businesses are fleeing this country and the resulting slow growth of GDP. Tariffs and protectionism actually LOWER American consumers standard of living.
Remember the old agage: Forewarned Is Forearmed.
I believe there is value in keeping informed on both sides of the political spectrum.
Sometimes we learn more from reading and hearing what the enemy is saying than we do from reading and hearing what people we agree with are saying.
Figuring out why they say it, what their real purpose is, and what we can or should do with the information is where it gets tricky.
Yes. Two answers/questions:
1) When can we get our troops singled up and pointed at THE enemy of America, our freedoms, and our values: the mostly unconstitutional $4 trillion federal government?
2) When can we get our troops singled up to recover and reinstate the U.S. Constitution, the ONLY legal bulwark of freedom against the tyranny of the feds?
I like some of your points but again, why does the Right use the same deceptive tactics the Left does?
The Left says “immigration” and pretends illegal immigration is the same as legal immigration.
The Right too many times, says “globalism” and “open borders” and pretends political borders, required for national sovereignty, is the same as open economic competition across borders in the marketplace.
