State Dept suspends review into 'top secret' Clinton emails

WASHINGTON (AP) -- The State Department has suspended its internal review into whether former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton or her top aides mishandled emails containing information now deemed 'top secret."

Spokeswoman Elizabeth Trudeau said Friday the department had paused the review to avoid interfering with an ongoing FBI investigation into Clinton's use of a private server while she was America's top diplomat. She said the decision was made after the department sought the FBI's advice on how to proceed with the review and received word that it should follow its standard practice. Trudeau said the department's standard practice is to place internal reviews "on hold while there is an ongoing law enforcement investigation underway."

“Ongoing investigation”

Shades of the Whitewater hearings.

I’m not quite sure what to make of this.

Whoooosh

That was the sound of my post going over your head.

Perhaps I was too nuanced

In one of my wildest hallucinations, mere hope might cause me to think that it is about time to stop counting dead bodies and prepare an indictment.
But, then again, we are dealing with the Clintons.

I want to be Hillary’s tutor while she’s in prison.

Me: “OK, Hillary, take out your biology book.”

Hillary: “Right here!”

Me: “Here are two photos. One of the photos is of Al Franken and the other is of a baboon’s ass. Which photo is Al Franken?”

Hillary: “Ummmmm....I can’t see any difference.”

Me: “That’s OK, nobody can see any difference.”

It isn’t clear how much the State Dept has been investigating since late Jan and how much this was a voluntary move. But it looks like they definitely have the goods on her.

Rule 1: Anything released by the government on a Friday afternoon is not good for conservatives. Basically, it’s probably so HRC campaign can say “One of the two inquiries has been completed. The result is that no evidence of wrongdoing was found. We are confident that the FBI ‘performance audit’ will be equally laudatory.”

Me either, but I'm afraid it means the cover-up is complete and the FBI will now be allowed to look at blank pieces of paper. In other words, I don't trust anything from a Democrat administration.

I’ve found as a Cruz supporter I’ve lost some IQ points on FR. I’m now somewhere between idiot and moron.

I wasn't implying that. If you remember, anytime the name "Foster" came up in a question during those hearings, the standard reply was, "I can't comment on an ongoing (park police) investigation."

This not bode well for Hillary. My gut feel is that they are done looking at failing to protect classified information. It's gone beyond that to more serious misconduct.
