JIm It's Time You Demand A Truce In Cruz/Trump War!
Me

Posted on 03/30/2016 3:09:28 PM PDT by OneVike

Jim;

Things have gotten way out of control here as of late. You know as well as most of us, that this war must end and end now, or your forum will end up being nothing more than a joke.

I humbly suggest that you not just request, but demand, that everyone step back and take a serious look at the slanderous comments being made by both camps. Debate is one thing, but what is happening is no longer a debate. This forum is on the verge of a civil war. A war that need not happen. For the good of this great forum, I and many I have talked to on both sides of the war admit things have gone too far.

I am a Ted Cruz supporter, yet I call on all my fellow Cruz supporters to put the knives back in the sheaths, as I ask the same of all you Trump supporters.

This civil war of Freeper against Freeper must end, or the result will inevitably be a complete destruction of this once great forum.

I begin by laying down my weapons as a gesture of good will. From hence forth I will not post any comments that are just knee jerk angry remarks that only serve to fuel the fires of hate and animosity.

We all have a common enemy in this fight, the eventual Democrat Presidential Nominee. I suggest we all remember this, because a house divided upon itself cannot stand, nor defeat the enemy.

I also offer this promise to everyone. Should Trump win the nomination, I promise to fight as hard, and as passionate, for him to become POTUS as I will for Cruz.

I know who his VP was. But do you remember Fulani served briefly as co-chair of his campaign?

Those were the fun days!

Very well said. We must unite to assure that the evil Clintons never take back the White House.

Two blondes walk into a bar.

The redhead ducked.

I think Jim was trying to lighten the mood and, from what I can tell, it worked fairly well. I read some good jokes on this thread. Point being, let’s try to lighten up. Eh?

However, if 4 million Republicans who voted for McCain showed up, Romney would have been president.

McCain received more votes in 2008 than both Romney or Obama received in 2012.

Sadly, Republicans stayed home and allowed Obama to win.

Regardless of their reason, we could have won. And Romney still would have been better than Obama.

Now, that being said, we may have lost the WH back to the Democrats in 2016, but now we will never know.

> Trump supporters have been viciously attacking everybody else on this board for the past nine months.

Perhaps some, but not all. I have not attacked anyone, viciously or otherwise. Yet you lump me into your argument. Here is a hint. When a Trump supporter viciously attacks you, hit the abuse button and then add comments in support of your candidate, rather than respond in kind. Or, simply ignore it. Some of us are tired of reading the abuse of other FReepers regardless of where they stand. Just my opinion. Nothing personal. So please don’t attack me. OKay FRiend?

Over 550 comments later, I must admit that it turned out better than I expected.

I think many have considered the lack of civility because of this thread.

Well, I at least pray they have.

Do you not see this as a personal attack?
The thread is about civility ...

Thank you for this post OneVike. You never know unless you try. It makes no sense to trash each other. We got our work cut out for us between June and November. I would love it if the personal fighting eases so that we all can get to the great opinions that FR is famous for and that I have loved for all these years.

Thanks to all who have added the jokes to this thread.
I needed some laughs.

And my thanks to Jim, as always.

"Whoever wins the presidency will then have to govern."

Lincoln governed. He did a lot of governing. He left reconstruction to those that came after.

Donald Trump himself openly brags on Television that he attacked each Republican in turn and knocked him out of the race. Calling Bush “Low Energy”, “ Little Marco”, comparing Carson to a child molester, etc. He has been tremendously successful at negatively branding each of them. Now that the same techniques are being turned on him, we finally hear about a truce.

The Trump sh!tstorm approach worked well against a crowded field. But we are into the fourth week of the “Lying Ted” branding campaign, and it is not working. But this is all Trump has. When he tries to do anything else, he unleashes a torrent of word soup that contradicts itself three times in the same rambling sentence.

This ends when Trump supporters admit what a destructive force he has been, and not before.

Cruz is the uniparty, why can’t you Cruzers see that? He is backed by Mitt Romney, The Bushes, Golden Sacs and the Club for growth. His wife is CFR, how stupid are you people?

I totally think that Trump can win.

Big.

He is appealing to that vast section of the electorate which has been yelling at (both) parties for an entire generation, to BRING BACK JOBS TO AMERICA.

Trump will do that. He will be quite a huge amount of support in that.

More than you know.

Sorry, after what Ted Cruz and the Cruz campaign has done over the last few months; a truce is not even possible.

It’s like raping someone and then apologizing afterwards.
