Things have gotten way out of control here as of late. You know as well as most of us, that this war must end and end now, or your forum will end up being nothing more than a joke.

I humbly suggest that you not just request, but demand, that everyone step back and take a serious look at the slanderous comments being made by both camps. Debate is one thing, but what is happening is no longer a debate. This forum is on the verge of a civil war. A war that need not happen. For the good of this great forum, I and many I have talked to on both sides of the war admit things have gone too far.

I am a Ted Cruz supporter, yet I call on all my fellow Cruz supporters to put the knives back in the sheaths, as I ask the same of all you Trump supporters.

This civil war of Freeper against Freeper must end, or the result will inevitably be a complete destruction of this once great forum.

I begin by laying down my weapons as a gesture of good will. From hence forth I will not post any comments that are just knee jerk angry remarks that only serve to fuel the fires of hate and animosity.

We all have a common enemy in this fight, the eventual Democrat Presidential Nominee. I suggest we all remember this, because a house divided upon itself cannot stand, nor defeat the enemy.

I also offer this promise to everyone. Should Trump win the nomination, I promise to fight as hard, and as passionate, for him to become POTUS as I will for Cruz.

I’m frankly sick to death of both candidates, particularly since they have dragged wives and allegations of mistresses into the fracas. Really? With all the problems this country has, is that the best you can do, criticize the wives and make accusations of infidelity?

The only thing worse are the two Communists being fielded by the other party.

I think we’re screwed, no matter who is elected. Again.

I’ve had to eat a lot of things in my 60 some odd years, but the worst tasting are always words. Words are like bullets, once you fire them, they are not coming back.

Personally, if things don’t change, I’ll vote Trump, but I’d be almost as happy with Cruz. I haven’t had cross words with anyone on FR over this, but I have seen a lot.

If Trump is such an awful candidate why is he beating Cruz like a drum in the battleground states? Cruz got 13% in OH, 17% FL, etc. No candidate will ever be POTUS with those type of pathetic numbers.

Might be time to review some of the 2008 and 2012 threads. Those got vicious. Recall the bots who posted their propaganda in nearly every election-related thread? And the nasty name-calling for anyone who posted anything against their selectee?

I am thinking this season has been relatively mild on FR.

We are almost to April and have not had a major cleansing by the ownership.

I think I would be happy with losing the insulting name calling of either candidate’s supporters.

Posting news items critical of any/all candidates is legitimate for the most part.

I believe FR is aiding the enemy, currently. They can come here daily and pick up information, and laugh as they watch us eat our own. In addition, I am sure there are many posters who do not bother to come here any more.

I know I am extremely uncomfortable lately and am cautious into which threads I wander. If I want insults, I can post on liberal sites.

A man and his kids are in a California courtroom, their Dad is facing charges of shooting an American Bald Eagle. The judge asks for a plea, the Dad says "guilty your honor, but I have an explanation", the judge tells him to go ahead:

The Dad says "Your honor, our family is homeless, we've been living out of our car, trying to sustain ourselves with food banks, and we were camping in the woods, and I saw that Bald Eagle flying overhead, so I grabbed a .22 rifle in the trunk and shot it, and then we plucked the feathers, cooked him, and ate him".

The judge was appalled: "my God man, that's terrible! I will find you guilty of the offense, but I will waive any jail time or fine, you are free to go."

The man almost weeps with relief, "oh thank you judge, thank you so much!" and the man and his kids are almost to the court room door and the judge calls out "just a moment?"

The judge says "just out of curiosity, what DOES an American Bald Eagle taste like?"

The man says "it's kinda hard to describe your honor, sort of a cross between a Spotted Owl and a California Condor."
