Please don't speak in absolutes. We cannot be considered civilized if we don't protect children, at all stages of life, including pre-separation infants. Now we're allowing abortion, providing birth control, subsidizing moms who have children, and the situation keeps getting worse. The problem is that a moral society cannot compromise on absolutes.
Ours has become a culture of death. Until mothers are expected to consider raising their children as a sacred obligation, abortions or not, there will be unwanted children. If anything, a woman is more likely to be responsible if she knows her actions will determine the path her life takes.
I remember the argument back in 1969-1970 in support of abortion. It was "if abortion is allowed, there won't be any unwanted children", spewed by a bunch of elitist liberal women I had the privilege of playing bridge with once a week. How has that reasoning worked for us?
Could we take care of our own? Sure. But not in the garbage society that has evolved from that pandering enabling mentality that began to prevail about 45 years ago.
orl iek when Paul ryan brought out his health care stuff they accused him and republicans of wanting to throw granny off the cliff
” I’m upset because his statement, while truthful, is none the less politically suicidal.”
In what way?
Gallup Poll: 55% of Americans Want All or Most Abortions Made Illegal
Unfortuunately, in actual practice, you can't do both.
So choose one.
I made neither of those assumptions.
The only time I have actually seen a punish the women attitude on the local level in the pro life movement has been from liberals ought to give pro-lifers a bad name. I don't think that's what Trump is doing, but I have seen it done before.
If that's obtuse so be it.
This is a blatant lie!!! He said DOCTORS would have to be punished if it were outlawed....this was a set up...calm down cruzers.....NEVER SAID THAT The Left and the GOPE are trying to make Trump look like he is anti-woman so Hillary can be president...OPEN your eyes
the answer is 93 percent of reporters are dems.
basically Pravda for the dems.
Perhaps people should read what he said since those are not his words but those of the Establishment person.
The only thing he said was people should be punished for violating the law. All else is Lawyer games and not his statement.
Then why do you have a problem punishing a women who knows abortions are illegal and is a willing participant.

If Congress were to pass legislation making abortion illegal and the federal courts upheld this legislation, or any state were permitted to ban abortion under state and federal law, the doctor or any other person performing this illegal act upon a woman would be held legally responsible, not the woman, Trump said in a written statement. The woman is a victim in this case as is the life in her womb.
Earlier, at a taped MSNBC town hall to be aired later Wednesday, Trump said if abortions were illegal, women should be held responsible.
Host Chris Matthews pressed Trump to clarify, asking him whether abortion should be punished and who ultimately should be held accountable.
Look, people in certain parts of the Republican Party, conservative Republicans, would say, Yes, it should, Trump said.
The candidate later put out a statement saying: This issue is unclear and should be put back into the states for determination.
Being pro-life is sabotaging your own election?
In other news: Fox Special report, campaign Carl ripped him as already flipping since the interview came out. Tied into his Issues with females including blaming the reporter his thug grabbed.
I saw the Chris Matthews interview and he talks faster than a road runner. I missed the “legal” part and that’s my bad. I apologize........sorry Mr. Trump.......;(
I still gotta stand by Trump. I feel like I need a shower whenever I see Cruzzzzz and he’s the Senator from my beloved state of Texas.........sorry......;)
#502 the most bizarre candidate I have ever seen. And I thought Perot was out there!
It has nothing to do with that, believe me. Gotcha questions come from both the left and the right.
The issue is law enforcement is the responsibility of the executive branch of government.
Any sitting President has to enforce the laws the Legislative branch makes and the Judicial branch deems constitutional. The US is getting a remedial civics lesson, and judging by the responses on this thread, it’s long overdue.
