Thanks very much for Bloomberg link. I read the entire article and the quoted Trump/Matthews exchange.
The premise of the question is dependent upon ABORTION BEING OUTLAWED (ILLEGAL) in ALL 50 STATES.
The question doesn't include the premise upon which abortion was outlawed or the penalty for subsequently performing abortions.
That aside, in case law, it's my understanding that whenever two people enter into an illegal contract of any kind, both parties are guilty.
Donald Trump's answer was entirely pro-life and righteous.
Abortion seeking women can go to Puerto Rico or elsewhere.

Why are there so many pro abortion freepers here?

Good question. I’m in hot debate with two of them now. Long time FReepers also.
But their comments give them away.

Wow look at the Cruz pile on going on here. Amazing.
News flash.
Nothing says conservative more than Pro-life and State control.
I take it back, you are not a moron or an idiot. Nope. You are exactly why this country is what it is.

Wait minute Cruzers. Before you get your panties in a wad, If the qualifier is “Illegal conduct” — there is always punishment . Right? Let’s move on. This is nothing here. What do you have in a criminal law that doesn’t have punishment. He says it should be left to the States and if it is illegal in a state that bans abortions, there should be punishment. I TOTALLY AGREE!! 100% It is necessary to enforce and criminal law that a state should pass!!Wake up. We are not that stupid here.

Good question.
Direct that question to the moron that said a woman who kills her baby is a “victim”.

Yeah... it has to be a FEDERAL issue too.
What a poison pill.
Undoing Roe v. Wade wouldn’t suddenly give R2 a Shangri-La.

Im a Cruzer. Sorry 'bout that. My apologies.
Now, how about you take a breath or two and investigate the way this was handled legally, pre-Roe? There's a handy link just a couple post up. from yours to me.
Trump is breaking brand new ground here. And it has nothing to do with conservatism.

how is ‘leaving it to the states’ a walk back?
Just opens the obvious follow up
‘so we jail them in alabama and kansas?’
I hope Cruz shuts this nonsense dialog down.

Trump just said what most pro lifers believe, that abortion is murder and murder is illegal.
Indeed, prolifers believe that abortion is murder. But it doesn't follow that the mother is the murderer. There are often extenuating circumstances, external pressure, etc.
Any punishment for abortion should fall primarily on the person who performs it and on anyone who assists in procuring it or coerces the mother.

When someone contracts another person to commit a murder for them (murder fir hire) ... they are are tried as the murderer,When you get the legislature to pass a law that says abortion is Murder and a President to sign it, along with the USSC Upholding it, come talk to us. Until then nah not so much...
Because as we Conservatives like to say The Law means something and as Conservatives we resprect the US Constitution and the Process that we follow to pass those laws.
Class is dismissed for the day.

Or is this talk about abortion being murder simply hot air?
Exactly. Getting ready for the arrival of the Hypocrisy Brigade!
To: Jay Thomas
You're talking about women. You're talking about people who think killing a baby/fetus is okay for the mother to do. But....if a drunk driver hits her and the fetus dies then the drunk driver should be convicted of murder. That the mother can kill the baby right up to the time of birth and it's okay. The father has no choice except to pay for it for 18 years if it's born.

His choice, hes a hothead and sometimes says silly things, also thats what i like about him.
hes not a scripted person and says things right out of his heart, so sometimes he make gaffs,
hell bush said is “islam is a religion of peace” and that’s worse then anything trump or cruz has ever said and yet people here supported him !
To: Antoninus
That’s fine.
I have to say regardless of what happens, politicians are going to have a REAL tough time hiding behind policy-speak and innocuous language when running for office or re-election. People are getting used to forced strikes and answers to questions. Deflection by candidates and fraud by media has become to much more apparent.
All of this is just very good for the Republic, i.e., you and me.
