I have a slightly different view. After the Fall a child can be raised to be 1)Law abiding and respectful or 2) Lawless and disrespectful. There is no “neutrality” given the sin nature, since both of the above apart from faith Christ are “in Adam” and therefore lost. One plays nice, the other does not.

I’d rather have a bunch of nice sinners than the other kind, for sure. Some of them are nicer than a lot of Christians, lol. Still won’t get them anywhere with the LORD.

We felt our grandkids were getting a bit "loose" based on lax discipline, so my with and I adopted a simple rule (with the consent of their parent): You are told once, then the hammer falls.

It took a few run-ins and remaining constant, but it worked. The saying they came up with was: "If momma's not happy, nobody's happy. If Grandma's not happy...RUN!"

They listen, are respectful, and that has not gone unnoticed by other people that encounter them.

per the kids in this story: First question to them is : How old are you? If they say 6, over the knee they go for 6 hard ones. If the aunt makes any noise, I'd tell her if she or their momma did their jobs, I wouldn't have to do mine.

Of course I'd go to jail for it, but it would look great on YouTube!
