"calls the story a lie, but never denies the affair question"

I have no idea whether Cruz had an affair or not, but I sure think Trump supporters are stupid. CALLING THE STORY THAT CLAIMS HE HAD AN AFFAIR A "TOTAL LIE" IS A DENIAL.

To say Cruz hasn't denied the affair is idiotic. Maybe he didn't deny it the way you want him to, but when someone makes a statement about you, and then you call that statement a "total lie", you are 100% DENYING the truth of that statement.

"I accuse you: you had an affair!"

"That's a total lie."

Good grief, people. That is a denial.

Why don't you dummies go back to your "lyin' Ted" mantra and call his denial a lie, rather than this idiotic LIE on YOUR PART that Cruz didn't deny it?

I completely agree with you. He has denied it.

The denial is plenty clear enough that, should subsequent confirmations come out, you'll have to concede that he is lying now.

Frankly, I don't care whether he screwed around or not. I'm not voting for him anyway. Speaking only for myslef, I don't think it's that big a deal.

But to his supporters, who have invested themselves mightily in this Man of God routine, the "annointed one," the "fulfillment of prophecy"... yeah, it might just matter to them.

What is important to me is that Amanda Carpenter get dragged down by this, provided, of course, she is "guilty."

Her little blacklist stunt has pissed me off. Also, I'd like to see Glenn Beck cry.

So not sure where you think the name calling gets you.

I called you a Trumper. Is that name calling. I don't mind be called a Cruzer. Sorry but, I can't keep track of what Trumper said what. There are threads devoted to Cruz not responding to the accusations. When you lie down with dogs you get up with fleas.

Excellent question.

Timing of polls before or after a critical event can be very important.

“Just so their guy wins.”

Utter nonsense. This goes to veracity. You should know that, but seem to be choosing to avoiding this. Cruz needs to put this behind him now!!

“Sure. And it was a Trump ally - David Pecker - owner of the Nat Enq who bought it and got the OK from Donald to run with it.”

You are joking right? You offer nothing but conjecture and try to pretend it is fact...not very impressive. It has been reported numerous times that it was actually a Rubio ally who shopped the well known scandal last year. You should get better informed...

Sorry, but if you think young staffers publicly calling their boss Daddy is innocuous behavior, I’d like to have a talk with your wife.

John Edwards fans used the same excuses you are trying.

If all there was was just an enquirer story, sure, you could try that.. but you combine the story with the publicly available information, and the non denial denials from Cruz, and the fact he keeps trying to blame it on Trump when countless folks have stated this story has been shopped by Rubio and is pretty much a public secret inside the beltway and the whole its just the enquirer thing is silly.

The fact Cruz still keeps trying to blame Trump for this story is probably the single biggest thing that lets you know he’s full of it. This isn’t Trumps style at all, this is old school politic stuff here, Trump would just flat out accuse Cruz of being a cheat either in a press conference, a debate, or on his twitter feed, he wouldn’t try to feed the story off to someone to publish so he could claim deniability.

"But to his supporters, who have invested themselves mightily in this Man of God routine, the "annointed one," the "fulfillment of prophecy"... yeah, it might just matter to them.

You really think Christians are that stupid? Personally, I think they know as well as anyone that all people are sinners and very few, especially politicians, are even close to being saints.

Everyone I know who supports Cruz, Christian or not, is a principled conservative and supports Cruz because they believe he is a principled conservative. Whether or not he can be trusted to have high moral character isn't the point... his actions in Washington have proved he can be trusted to advocate conservative principles.

Conversely, Trump sometimes changes policies back and forth in 24 hours.

I hope Cruz didn't cheat on his wife, because I PREFER to vote for a person with good moral character. But governing principles come first. That's why if my vote mattered in the general (it doesn't... I live in California), to stop the Democrat nominee, I'd even vote for a jerk like Trump who treats people like dirt if they don't worship him.

So none of you suspicion anything about the fact that Trump and Pecker have been good friends for years -

Or that the story comes from the Enquirer.

and you state, categorically, that he’s guilty.

What a bunch of Trump/Pecker heads you Freeps have turned into. gutter-snipers. You’ve tr4uned FR into DU...

It also just struck me that if there IS anyone that views Cruz this way, then finding out this about him would certainly be very disappointing to them, but do you seriously think anyone looking to vote for a saint would then drop Cruz and vote for Trump?!?!?

The best Trump could hope for would be for such supporters to be disillusioned and not vote at all, because no one looking for sterling moral character would even remotely glance Trump's way.

And when you lie down with hookers, you wind up in the enquirer.

Sorry, but choosing to cite lying with dogs was probably a poor choice.

If one was a hooker, that matters to a lot of voters. If one or two were married, that matters. If one or two were employed by him at the time, that matters to a lot of people. It is definitely something that can impact the vote. Just ask John Edwards, and democrats don’t even care about affairs.

And yes, it is name calling... you are inventing words and throwing them out there.. so yes. Adding ER to a noun has absolutely no meaning in the English language.

ER is added to Adjectives for comparative sake, not just randomly stuck on proper nouns. 3rd grade level English is your friend.

Well hey, if I don't care and you don't care, what's the big deal? We don't really have a gripe.

If he did or if he didn't, I'm not voting for him.

If he did or if he didn't, you are voting for him.

However, you'd have to be blind not to see the holier-than-thou contingent that surrounds the Cruz candidacy. It's certainly represented here on FR and is embodied by the rantings of Glenn Beck.

I thought the poll pertained to an affair. Now you are changing it to a hookers? Why not just call it a homosexual tryst?

Are you saying it’s OK if Cruz had affairs because Trump had affairs?

As to updates, media types were complaining a while ago that instead of staying at the local Holiday Inn, Trump flies home to his own bed every night.

MNDude You are right Curz WAS, conservative, but WAIT, he’s been a revolving door politician every since he finished law school. He’ll do anything to stay in the government halls and on the government’s payroll. HE HAS NOT YET COMPLETED HIS COMMITMENT TO THE CITIZENS OF TEXAS WHO PUT HIM IN THE SENATE. He’s too busy campaigning and denying ?. That tells me a whole lot of Ted’s “word of honor”.
