lorida police have charged Donald Trump's campaign manager Corey Lewandowski with simple assault in connection with an incident earlier in the month involving a reporter.
Police in Jupiter, Florida issued Lewandowski a notice Tuesday to appear before a judge on May 4 for the misdemeanor charge. A surveillance video released by the police appears to show Lewandowski grabbing a reporter for Breitbart News as she tried to ask Trump a question during a March 8 campaign event.
The police report states: "Lewandowski grabbed (Michelle) Fields' left arm with his right hand causing her to turn and step back." Fields showed police her left forearm which "appeared to show a grabbing-type injury," according to the investigating officer.

And I'd say you have a problem, not me. ONE MORE TIME.....this has NOTHING to do with Cruz.......OR TRUMP.
This is about a reporter saying Lewandowski grabbed her hard enough to leave bruises....and Lewandowski saying he didn't touch her.
This has nothing to do with Secret Service Agents or Bodyguards. They saw no threat to Trump.....so they did nothing to Fields.
SS never touched her, zip/nada. It was all "campaign manager" Lewandowski.
“Well, I guess the law will get to decide about that, won’t they?”
Yes.
“The fact is, Cory DID GRAB her.....as the new video showed....and he’s been charged.”
From what little we can see, Corey and the Secret Service detail wee entirely justified in physically restraining Fields from accosting Trump from behind or the side, and Corey in particular was justified in restraining anyone from blocking his ability to remain at Trump’s side and within the security cordon around Trump. Trump, his Secret Service bodyguards, and his escorting staff are in substantial danger from would be attackers, and as a regular citizen and more especially as an alleged journalist, Fields should know better than to interfere with their movements, including Corey’s. If she happened to be restrained in the process, she should have chalked it up to experience and resolved to avoid putting herself in that position again, if she did not want to take personal responsibility for the trivial consequences to herself. The Democrats who authorized this prosecution should themselves be sanctioned for abuse of discretion.
Hes a campaign manager, and that includes being a body man. Its absolutely in his charter to control access, including by an assaulting reporter.
This will go away as quickly as it popped up. I remember when there was a similar incident at Trump towers a few months ago and Trumps head body guard went out there and pushed some of the protesters back.
They threatened filing charges for assault and it was never heard from since and there was video there too.
This is so ridiculous that a judge is going to be seriously irritated if his time is wasted like this.
“SS never touched her, zip/nada. It was all “campaign manager” Lewandowski.”
Corey Lewandowski is responsible for remaining at Trump’s side and contribute to the protective cordon around Trump. Fields’ movement towards Trump from behind interfered with Corey’s movement as part of that security cordon, so Corey was fully justified in restraining her or anyone else interfering with his movements alongside Trump or approaching the Presidential candidate from the side or behind like that. Presumably the Secret Service bodyguards did not need to restrain her before Corey Lewandowski did so, because she interfered with Corey Lewandowski before getting close enough to the Secret Service agents to warrant their reactions.
“Lewandowski saying he didn’t touch her.”
Why would you expect him to have a memory of something so trivial as making his way through a crowd of jostling journalists like that?
Here is a YouTube video of the supposed assault, can anyone say that it appeared that he purposely assaulted her? You decide...

That's some fancy side stepping you're doing there to make your point that she deserved it! LOL
I don't care about that. I'm talking about the fact that Fields said Lewandowski grabbed her, as did another witness, and Lewandowski denied it and said Fields was lying.
Oh man....you are good at making excuses.
Hey, I don't remember it......so therefore, it never happened.
Hey...she deserved it. She should have known not to approach a Presidential candidate....yada, yada, yada.
That sure sounds like the mindset of the present President and HIS supporters
It will never see a jury. He will plead to a lesser charge.
Hard to get lesser than misdemeanor battery but I agree.
So NOW asking a question to a Presidential candidate is ASSAULT? WOW....even Obama never went there.
When and where did Fields "touch" Trump and why hasn't he filed against her for assault?
Man.....Trump had better get a restraining order against Fields....I didn't know she was so dangerous.
I hope they pursue this. It is a ridiculous charge.
She needs to be banned from all Trump events.
Ever heard of Squeaky Fromme? She tried to assassinate Gerald Ford.
Attendees at press conferences are not entitled to invade the physical space of presidential candidates, for obvious reasons.
Yes, so what? How many death threats has Trump endured, huh? She is lucky she wasn’t hit with something really physically damaging.
Plenty of desperate Cruzers here, clearly there was no assault, just a no name reporterette looking for 15 min. fame.
This is going to only benefit Trump, as another example of media trying to pick our candidates, in this case with ridiculousness.
This is a politically motivated prosecution. How many believe this prosecution would be occurring if the reporter was a man? This portrays female reporters as fragile and weaker than male reporters.
If they had it, do you think trump would keep it a secret?
