Ted Cruz has been accused of having at least five mistresses, including CNN anchor and former Cruz employee Amanda Carpenter. The media claims Cruz has denied these accusations.
Cruz is lying, according to multiple trial lawyers and experts on persuasion. His lies are hard to spot, because his lies are also truthful.
Consider what Cruz said in response to the news story:
“Let me be clear this National Enquirer story is garbage. It is complete and utter lies. It is a tabloid smear and it is a smear that has come from Donald Trump and his henchmen.”
Let’s look at what Cruz did not say. Cruz could have said, “I have never cheated on my wife.” Why didn’t he?
Consider the oath witnesses take before testifying. “I swear to tell the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth.” Isn’t that redundant?
Ted Cruz is accused of having had an affair with five women. He could say, “That’s a lie. I did not have five mistresses.” If Cruz did have one mistress, then he’d have told the truth (he didn’t have five) but not the whole truth (he had one).

I didn’t say I expected it out of Trump, I just think it would have been a very wise thing to say from a political standpoint.
The 2 candidates in question here have a lot of back and forth, but those 2 men don’t have near the baggage that their supporters do, at least on this site.
When I hear ‘Cruz said’ or ‘Trump said’, I have to go to the source to see what actually happened, because there have been so many outlandish accusations that are basically untrue. And these lies about what the candidates have said have been not only believed by many on FR, but then embellished and, well, not our finest hour...
Oh, there are a lot of people already on their knees before Trump, willing to take anything he wants to feed them.

Again with the present tense, Race Bannon? No one can be forgiven by God or man after they demonstrate repentance by changing their behavior? Tsk.
Trump can't take back what he wrote in an autobiography years ago, about behavior unspecified years before that. But you could check and observe that his behavior is now different, and stop casting present-tense stones.
No one is calling Trump a hero because of adultery, but in spite of it, due to his candor about it and acceptance of blame over the marriage break-ups. The issue with Cruz is far less about alleged adultery than it is about alleged hypocrisy and untruthfulness.

Based on Amanda’s behavior, long before the story broke, it was obvious to me she had way too much emotional attachment to Cruz to just be an ardent supporter/former staffer. Her behavior during election coverage has been at times moon bat crazy.... Literally I have been left shaking my head in utter disbelief at some of the things she has done or said.
Now in the context that she had, or having an affair with him, her behavior makes a lot more sense.
ANd just for the record when a young woman who is not your daughter has no issues publicly calling you Daddy... your wife knows full well what’s going on as well.
