Ted Cruz denies affairs, denounces ‘garbage’ report; Trump says his campaign wasn’t involved
The Dallas Morning News ^ | 3/25/16 | Tod Gillman

WASHINGTON — A Donald Trump supporter aired unsubstantiated rumors of Ted Cruz infidelity on CNN on Friday. Within an hour, Cruz accused Trump of using “henchmen” to peddle tabloid “garbage” and “complete and utter lies.”

By mid-afternoon, Trump took to social media to deny his involvement in the story.

Mainstream news outlets had steered clear of the rumors and a report in the tabloid National Enquirer before the Trump supporter — appearing live with Amanda Carpenter, a CNN commentator who had worked as Cruz’s communications director — demanded Carpenter address the allegation that she had an affair with the senator.

“It is categorically false. You should be ashamed for spreading this kind of smut,” Carpenter shot back, visibly angry, denouncing the “tabloid trash.”

Twitter and other social media have erupted since the Enquirer posted its story Thursday afternoon, with the hashtag #Cruzsexscandal trending. Cruz detractors mounted an impromptu crowdsourcing effort online to identify the five women whose photos the Enquirer published with black bars across their eyes.

Cruz was campaigning in Wisconsin as Friday’s CNN segment was airing onstage live at a town hall in Oshkosh. The Enquirer report did not come up in the Q&A. The senator addressed it with reporters afterward.

Cruz also posted a denial on his Facebook page.

No, of course, it wasn’t Trump making the allegation! It was only Roger Stone, his professional mudslinger, and the magazine his friend and associate runs! Trump had NOTHING to do with it!

What’s so pathetic is that you can’t even deny that Trump’s business ventures are all mafia-dominated industries. He’s the man that cornered the market on New Jersey prostitution, but now he wants to make America great again, because he’s just that nice of a Christian.

He says he’s pro-life. How many thousands of babies do you think were murdered by the thousands of prostitutes who work his golf resorts and stripper-centered casinos?

So true! and some of them kind of specialize in social media and sell that as a service to the people they work for as consultants and strategy experts. (Like Amanda Carpenter.)

I’ve been saying ever since she came out with her enemy’s list comments, and Liz Mair with her SuperPAC attack ad using Trump’s wife — that it’s another example of how politicians have no clue when they hire these people, that the people have no clue either.

“CREEPY!”

Ted Cruz at Princeton: Creepy, Sometimes Well Liked, and Exactly the Same

Four independently offered the word “creepy,” with some pointing to Cruz’s habit of donning a paisley bathrobe and walking to the opposite end of their dorm’s hallway where the female students lived.

“I would end up fielding the [girls’] complaints: ‘Could you please keep your roommate out of our hallway?’” (roommate) Mazin says.

“and yet Trump somehow isn’t, despite the fact that he has admitted to cheating on his first two wives and dumping them for mistresses?”

A yes, what you ARE saying is that Trump’s pecadillos are all out in the open, and he’s not denying that any of that happened. You can not like him for his amoral behavior, but he’s not hiding anything. Cruz OTOH has some splainin’ to do, but he’s circling the wagons instead. The two situations are grossly different. I just hope for clarity’s sake there are pictures that will make the situations abundantly clear if they happened.

Actually, so do I.

It’s enough for me to disagree with him on other matters.

“And now he accuses, through his surrogates, Cruz of living an immoral life. Trump will yet reap what he has sown. And you’re acting rather creepy yourself.”

I have heard not a single person affiliated with the Trump campaign say any such thing.

What they HAVE said, repeatedly, without wavering, is that the Trump team was not the source of these allegations.

Again, no one on the Trump team has said anything about Cruz's morals. Although they do object to Cruz trying to lay the blame for his own possible misconduct at another man's doorstep.

And who can blame them for that? This is a Ted Cruz problem. He can either address it or not.

Donald Trump has no say in the matter.

Well, what is done is done, guilty or not. We can pray for them to return to peace as soon as is humanly possible.

That would be my emphasis.

I certainly identify with your thoughts there.

Nope that was explained in another thread, both PACs use the same service that handles filing and housekeeping and legal issues. Whence the same mailing address.

The point I was trying to make is that Trump had proven issues yet people are ready to slam Cruz when on issues that are not yet proven. Let the evidence come out first people.

What is wrong with you. You have no idea of babies being murdered by prostitutes who work his golf resorts.
Such statements should be investigated.

And claims the mafia is involved.

The FBI may want to talk to you.

“Let the evidence come out first people.”

I agree. But the pot bangers on both sides are angry, and they both want answers, now.

Third decision

Who cares?

I have no idea what kind of arrangement Ted Cruz and his wife have on how they run their lives

In this race we have Donald Trump who has bragged about his multiple extra marital affairs with many women on the younger side ( his own words)

On the Democrat side he is facing Hillary Clinton who is an butch lesbian who hangs out with a bunch of open lesbos and whose live in lesbian lover is a Muslim Brotherhood Affiliated operative who Hillary has wrongfully put on the payrolls of the Dept of State , the Clinton Foundation and a number of quid pro quo, make work Monica Lewinsky type jobs with friends companies - all with serious conflicts of interest

Clinton's live in lesbian lover is a major player in the Clinton email disaster and all may soon be indicted

Hillary is also a major gay rights advocate

Hillary's husband Bill Clinton is a sexual predator who's most recent issue revolves around well documented trips flying to a Island to partake in pedophiles orgys with under age sex slaves

Bernie Sanders is just plain weird and creepy - on the record, when it comes to sex

I don't think a few indiscretions on Ted Cruz's part are going to be a deal killer given the history rest of the field in this weird election

The problem is that as a public figure, it is extremely difficult to prove actionable liable. The women would have a much easier time than Ted making credible threats to sue.

There is one more strange thing about the photo. It was the location of her tattoo. Someone else had to put it on.
