Donald Trump insisted Friday he had nothing to do with the recent National Enquirer story in which Texas Sen. Ted Cruz is accused of cheating on his wife multiple times.
Still, Trump took the moment to point out the tabloid publication has been right in the past with similar stories.
“I have no idea whether or not the cover story about Ted Cruz in this week’s issue of the National Enquirer is true or not, but I had absolutely nothing to do with it, did not know about it, and have not, as yet, read it,” Trump said in a statement. “Ted Cruz’s problem with the National Enquirer is his and his alone, and while they were right about O.J. Simpson, John Edwards, and many others, I certainly hope they are not right about Lyin’ Ted Cruz.”
The National Enquirer’s parent company, AMI, also released a statement…

If anyone can dig up stuff like this, it’s the National Enquirer. This is bread-and-butter for them.
And I don’t know but suspect the ride is going to get even bumpier for Ted Cruz.

I wonder if the NE is sitting on irrefutable evidence. Just waiting until all this build-up reaches its crest and then lay it all out with a bold graphic headline and article. Their readership numbers would explode.
I don't know whether Cruz is guilty of adultery or not. I know it was foolish for his team of supporters to go after Malia Trump. If he did commit adultery he may have left evidence that will doom him, his family, and supporters to consequences. Hopefully they did not break laws.
This primary season has really driven up individuals passions. And I understand spirited debate and angry words. That is not my issue with what you have been doing. Willful insults meant to provoke or put down others has run its course at FR. The lady you insulted didn’t deserve those remarks, nor have many of the others you’ve insulted.
