Ted Cruz didn’t attack Donald Trump early in the cycle because others who had “ended up as roadkill.”

In an interview with Wisconsin's Charlie Sykes of WTMJ, the Texas senator was pressed about his earlier fawning statements about Trump, including a tweet from December that said he wouldn’t engage with Trump because the billionaire businessman was “terrific.”

“What took you so long?” WTMJ asked, referring to Cruz's now full-throated attacks on Trump.

“It was a wonderfully diverse, talented, dynamic, young field. It had really incredible talent. If you look at a number of the candidates that took on Donald Trump early on, they ended up as roadkill,” Cruz said in the Wednesday interview, which was first reported by BuzzFeed News.

Cruz said the strategy all along was to first build up a strong core of support before directly taking on Donald. “And not be roadkill,” Cruz added. “I am very strongly committed on the anti-roadkill approach.”

Please rethink that position. If somehow Cruz got the nomination, it’s very likely he won’t survive the standing Hillary will have before the SC against his NBC status, but he would be all we would have.

And -- if as has been alleged, and the screenshot I saw matches three or four details of the Enquirer blurred out photo pretty well -- one of the mistresses *is* Katrina Pierson (Trump spokeswoman)...and her Twitter feed has gone private since this broke...then it's lights out, game over.

She'd know from pillow talk about the other women.

Anybody with to connected, functioning brain cells understands a vote for Cruz is a vote for Hillary and the GoPe, because he cannot win FL,OH, or VA. The media, Dems and GoPe know this, you should too.

Clearly TRump will have the most delegates going into the convention, to deny him the nomination and squash the emotion of the Trump movement, built on real hope for a change in the countries direction toward real Americanism, will turn to anger, and the blame will rightly be placed on Cruz, the GoPe, and all the dopes voting with them.

Cruz’s political career outside Texas will be done and so will the nation.

Unless I’m mistaken, National Enquirer didn’t give names. Right now it’s an allegation. NE has gotten some stories right, some stories wrong. The best we can do is wait for more information, since we can’t know what is or isn’t true.

But people don’t want to wait for facts. If the narrative serves them they’ll run with it, with or without facts/evidence. And that’s the thing that makes me fear that America is past her shelf life.

My wife’s dad was also in the 2nd Division during Korea. He was badly wounded in Korea and listed as missing for quite awhile because of some type of snafu. He was in the 3rd Armored during WWII. He joined in 1938 and retired in 1966.
