The president of Emory University has spoken to demonstrators who said they were frightened after someone wrote 'Trump 2016' in chalk around campus.
Students at the Atlanta school, which has an enrollment of more than 14,000 claim their 'safe space' was violated when the messages appeared on sidewalks and buildings.
Jim Wagner, president of the Atlanta university, wrote Tuesday that the students viewed the messages as intimidation, and they voiced 'genuine concern and pain' as a result.
He acted after student government wrote to him and slammed the university's response, prompting a meeting that led to protests. Now administrators want to track down those responsible for the controversial markings.
But some commentators on the university's student newspaper website told the students to grow up and accused them of being babies.

You’re probably right. Hard sciences don’t let themselves to a lot of free time in which to get your brains mushed by idleness.
Me too. If the RP or the GOPe unfairly denies Trump the nomination, or if they try in any way to manipulate the delegates or the process, or the "rules", I'm out. The party will be dead to me. Neither I nor my wife will vote for any republican candidate ever again. It has no use for me, and I have no use for it.
When these kids become the majority the First Amendment is toast.
The “Kimmer” radio show suggested everyone in Atlanta drive by Emory University, roll down the window and shout TRUMP, just to watch their heads explode.
National Guard troops should be deployed on university campuses to crack heads and lob tear gas grenades at these worthless snots
I definitely want these go-getters working in my company./s
Yep.
I don’t believe I’d a tole dat!
Yank any funding they get as it is apparent the college is a complete failure.
Chalk is cheap
I’m in Atlanta and , sadly, this is not from the Onion. It is, however, from a most liberal University. We have neighbors who work there, and , yes, they are just that nuts.
Those stickers are as good as a moron tattoo on your forehead.
According to liberals graffiti is a form of expression to be celebrated and admired, even when it is PAINTED onto public and private property. Now they treat it as vandalism, even if written in chalk.
Waiting for the University to ban all TVs and radios on campus for fear the students will hear the word Trump or G-d forbid SEE his image.
I’d like to know:
1) exactly how many “students” complained and expressed their horror that someone would write the name of a presidential candidate, in easily excised chalk no less.
2) If more than 1, were the others brought in as a group, like the “witness” hysteria over the Michael Brown shooting episode? I.e., was “community organizing” involved?
3) Is there a racial dimension to the complaint? The left’s plan is to exploit blacks by creating a climate of fear, especially by falsely connecting Trump with the KKK. This seems like too convenient an object lesson to be an accident.
4) Did the “complainers” actually chalk up the words themselves, as part of the leftist hoax tradition? Dollars to donuts...
5) Have the complainers heard about the 1st Amendment, or political campaigns? Evidently not.
Pussyface pantywaist wuss crybaby sissy candyass lollipop idiots!
Instead of playing along with these overgrown infants the president should tell them to grow up. The university should mock these losers. Our colleges have become real incubators.
Or as the Soviets used to say, "Probe with steel. If you meet steel, back off. If you meet mush, keep probing."
Are they in pain because they will have to drop their basket weaving major and take up Accounting, Medicine ( or any subset within ) or Engineering to get a real job in the coming Trump Economy and use their head for something other than a place to wear a beer helmet?
The engineering students in Atlanta go to Georgia Tech, but you’re right about the serious students in the hard sciences. Still, they are forced to go through the liberal arts classes to get their degrees, so are exposed in those places.
Hahaha, that would be great!
Well, some of the snowflakes are named - this will come up on any google name search by potential employers...ooops!
Oh, for F*%(&’s sake ?!?!?!?! This next generation of liberal turds are doomed.
