Trump dismisses Cruz explanation in fight over wife's photo
The Washington Examiner ^ | 3/23/2016 | Gabby Morrongiello

Donald Trump on Wednesday kept up his attack against Ted Cruz by claiming the Texas senator is behind a recent ad showing Trump's wife Melania in the nude.

Trump first accused Cruz on Tuesday of circulating a provocative image of Melania from a January 2000 photoshoot with GQ Magazine. In the accusation posted to Trump's Twitter account, the brash businessman also said he would "spill the beans" on Cruz's wife, Heidi.

But the Texas senator said he had "nothing to do" with the ad after the anti-Trump Make America Awesome PAC took credit for it.

On Wednesday, Trump slammed "Lyin' Ted Cruz" over his repeated assurance that he took no part in the development or circulation of the ad.

Cruz hit back at Trump Wednesday morning – hours before the billionaire's latest tweet – during an interview with CNN's Chris Cuomo.

"It reveals a lot about class, that Donald's instinct is to try to attack my wife and sully her," he said.

People paid good money for that issue of GQ. Melanie's photo was a winner.

I haven't seen any high-end four colour glossy magazines putting Heidi's mugshot on the cover.

Which one is more shameful?

It’s really irrelevant, Appy, because the law prevents him from associating with PACs that support him. That doesn’t mean he doesn’t support them, and it doesn’t mean he cannot condemn them when they cross the line....and he is in touch with them in other capacities, such as CPAC.

So, the media is NOT carrying this info about the source of the PAC, appy. I had to dig to find it.

BFD.

Trump has never attempted to portray himself as anything *but* that.

But Cruz portrayed an image as an Evangelical (and now Mormon) wet dream.

Anger is a normal when a man's wife is insulted. Normal people can understand it since they are capable of experiencing it.

Except that there's no insult. The picture that she posed for, combined with the statement "The next first lady."

***Not even close to similar. The use of the pic of Melania is a compliment and Trump should treat it as such.***

You are so full of crap I can’t believe you are even trying to peddle this garbage! The ad was not using her or her photo as a compliment, it was trying to make her out as a slut to the “pure” Mormon housewives, but you already know that. You are a flaming hypocrite who would be screaming from the rooftops if a Pac supporting Trump had pulled something like this. And you would be laying this at Trump’s doorstep, too, not just with the Pac.

Man worship makes people look like fools.

“Wow blame the guys wife for Cruz and Mair going there.”

I’m not sure what that is supposed to mean, so can’t respond to it.

“Principled Cruzlim Conservatism is total baloney.”

That statement is baloney. Check Cruz’s voting record with any of the conservative groups who rate them and you’ll find Cruz at or near the top of the pack (+/- 97%). Compare that to the Trumpster’s Dem contributions and liberal statements over the years. That’ll show how “principled” the Trumpster is.

“You got killed in the elections”

In some states, yes; in other states, no.

“a free ride in the media”

You have got to be kidding.

“are making common cause with every nut GOPE”

I supported Cruz when he ran against the GOP establishment candidate in TX and have continued to support him when he “shut down the government”, called McConnell a liar on the Senate floor (giving the facts to back it up, which were not denied, and was ostracized by most of the Senate Repubs virtually all squishes who refused to fight Obummer’s agenda).

“and think you guys actually hit a triple.”

I don’t claim a triple.

“Cruz doesn’t even have a mathematical chance anymore”

I think you are right that Cruz is unlikely to hit 1237 going into the convention. The Trumpster might, but then again may not.

“and here you people are. Just ducky.”

I’m content to do what one person can do to elect consistent conservatives to office. We’ll have to wait about a year to see how “ducky” things turn out.

***Heidi’s depression episode isn’t a published event, and the Cruz family is within their right to keep their medical info private***

It’s not published and yet we all know about it........weird.

You’re trying desperately to deflect onto The Donald. The real point of the issue is that Cruz is such a slimeball that he will do or say anything to win. The void of real character in Ted’s soul is showing, bigtime.

That is false; let's test your honesty: are you a Cruz voter ? are you religious ? which denomination/sect do you assemble with ?

That is false

It is not. The positive or negative inference is left to the viewer. I think it's a positive, and a reason to vote for Trump.

***Liz Mair, founder of Make America Awesome, said the point of the campaign is to rally voters around Ted Cruz, and she expects the ads to reach 10,000 Mormon voters per day.***

“They aren’t Cruz’s ads, you simpleton.”

You’re being purposefully stupid, which is worse.

>>I have never liked the idea of electing political neophytes.

Fortunately, the Founding Fathers knew better. The president isn’t a maker of laws, a decider of what is constitutional, or anything that requires a lifetime of political experience. He is a leader. He points in a direction, shares a vision, and a nation of FREE men who like what they hear actually make it a reality.

In the USA, the president says, “Let’s see what past those mountains?” We, the collection of individuals, are the one who build wagons, cut down trees, make bridges, and travel beyond the mountains.

It’s a damned shame that the current culture of expecting it all from government has infected FR to the extent that anyone here would say that they don’t like the idea of political neophytes. This nation is truly doomed now.
