Poll: Trump beats both foes head-to-head

Donald Trump would lead either Ted Cruz or John Kasich in a two-way race, according to the results of a Quinnipiac University national poll released Wednesday. Asked whom they would like to win the GOP nomination, 43 percent of the 652 Republicans surveyed said they wanted Trump to emerge as the party's choice in Cleveland, followed by 29 percent for Cruz and just 16 percent for Kasich, with 9 percent undecided.

I’m beyond tired of the in-fighting. No group divides itself better than conservatives/Republicans. At this point, I want to hear more about how they plan to defeat Hillary, not each other.

Trickles down into the constituency, too. I’ve been a Freeper for a while and I’ve not seen so much contempt, hypocrisy and vitriol among like-minded folks. It’s really disgusting.

This election has been like a clown show.

I used to think Cruz was a good guy. Now, I cannot even listen to his smarmy, arrogant, elitist, nasally, annoying voice. I think I turn it off faster than Obama’s droning.

I doubt very much he could beat Hitlery. He would bring in nobody from the other side. He’s icky.

Without it, Trump’s billions in free advertising and fraudulent attacks will probably prevail.

Yep. Well we sure as heck know that Ted Cruz's advertising isn't free, is it?

Nope. Ted Cruz is bought and paid for, now more than ever. Cruz has finished completely discarding his ostensible outsider status (lol!) and brought none other than Jeb Bush himself on board.

But I'm sure none of these Establishment endorsements really mean anything, right?

Ted Cruz would never allow himself to be influenced by such elements as the Bush Brothers (Jeb and finance team member Neil), John McCain, Mitt Romney, Lindsay Graham, and their ilk, right?

Oh wait... he already has been influenced by them, as demonstrated by his behavior over the last several weeks.

Yep. All that non-free advertising has to be paid for, and Ted Cruz is paying for it with both his integrity and principles...

You mean like Krispy Christie’s establishment endorsement? Maybe not.
Go vote for the leftist fraud who contributed to Rotten, Pelosi, Reid and Schumer. Now THOSE are endorsements you can respect, since they came from Donald Trump himself! Everyone knows that cult leader Donald Trump will make America great again!

How does Trump do head to head against Hillary?

Your argument that Cruz should drop out and endorse Kasich is intriguing. Kasich polls the best against Clinton or Sanders and is obviously the best nominee to defeat them, thanks to your incisive logic.

Rationalizations for voting for a Narcissist and reflexive liar are coming rather easily to those who are voting for one of the Marxist’s favorite benefactor, Mr. Trump.

Chris Christie's much more of an outsider than any of those clowns. I'd take his endorsement over every one of those...

FRONTRUNNERS decline to debate losers, because there is nothing to gain for the frontrunner just because the losers are bed wetters and desperate.

I agree the parties are fractured, both parties have been run for decades by minority factions who have done everything in their power to prevent the usual pressure release valves from going off to hold onto control....

When this happens, that just means the pressure builds until things explode.

We are in the middle of WW IV currently, its just the west refuses to accept it. Fundamentalist Islam is at war with everyone and everything, and this denial by the west to understand this is going to allow it to continue to fester and grow until one day a western city will burn from an islamic nuke.

And if Ted faced Donald in a one on one project management contest Donald would crush him.

What do you think is more important? The ability to lay out a plan and execute it or lawyer up?

It’s why these D.C. well connected corrupt AH’s are all sitting around tables right now trying to figure out how to defraud Trump out of a nomination. They have no desire to see their gravy train to leave the station.

Their behavior predictable.

Interesting site.

In any case we should be happy. DT will win the nom. Or the gop will commit political suicide. Either way is a win for the American people.

RE: Your argument that Cruz should drop out and endorse Kasich is intriguing.

I’m not making an argument for or against anyone dropping out, I’m asking a question — How does Trump do head-to-head against Hillary? THAT’s ALL.

He’s the designated loser, nikos. The game here is to “regrettably” lose the general with a designated loser like cruz. So long as the folks down ticket get to keep their perks, it’s an acceptable sacrifice.

What the smartest people in the room failed to consider is scorched earth.

Scorched earth in this context is when millions of mightily pissed off Trump supporters who were screwed over at the convention vent their anger at the general by voting against every down ticket republican. Thus costing the gop the house, the senate, the legislatures etc. Aka the gop-e enablers.

We didn’t win WW2 by targeting the nazis in Germany, the facsists in Italy, or the militants in Japan. We won it by utterly destroying Germany, Italy, and Japan.

It’s not really “head to head” between Mr. Trump and Sen. Cruz as long as Kasich and “other” are allowable choices for the poll’s respondents.
