Cruz: Trump's attack on my wife shows his character
Politico ^ | March 23, 2016 | Eliza Collins

Ted Cruz attacked Donald Trump’s character for threatening his wife on Tuesday and blamed his opponent's attack on “a very bad night” in Utah.

“If Donald wants to get in a character fight he's better off sticking with me, because Heidi is way out of his league,” Cruz said on CNN’s “New Day,” responding to a late-night tweet from Trump warning, "Be careful, Lyin' Ted, or I will spill the beans on your wife!”

The attack reveals a lot about Trump's character, Cruz said. "That should be beneath Donald," he said. "The reason he's doing that is because he had a very bad night last night. He got clobbered in Utah."

Trump’s tweet — which began with “Lyin' Ted Cruz just used a picture of Melania from a G.Q. shoot in his ad" — is an apparent reference to an online ad by anti-Trump super PAC Make America Awesome, which used a photo of Trump’s wife Melania posing nude in British GQ in 2000 in an attempt to sway conservative Mormon voters.

Cruz responded via Twitter shortly after: "Pic of your wife not from us. Donald, if you try to attack Heidi, you're more of a coward than I thought. #classless.”

On CNN, host Chris Cuomo asked the Texas senator if engaging with Trump was a good idea.

"The tweet he was unhappy about was not even a super PAC supporting me. It is an independent group. I don’t know them,” Cruz said. "When Donald gets scared, when he gets angry, when he gets threatened ... So last night Donald threatened my wife, he went directly after my wife."

Cruz also ratcheted up his pressure on John Kasich, who fared poorly in Tuesday's contests, to get out of the race, repeatedly calling the Ohio governor a “spoiler.”

“heidi Cruz is a nasty globalist broad ....she can take North american Union and shove it up her ass....”

Wow and these are the very same people who get OUTRAGED when a SuperPAC that is NOT associated with the Cruz campaign uses a picture of Trump’s wife naked from 15 years ago.

Have any of you ever READ the definition of hypocrite?

I’m pretty sure the answer is no.

Look up projection while you’re at it.

He didn’t hold office or vote on bills. He’s was a businessman and private citizen, not a politician. It’s not easy getting things built with endless red tape. I worked for years with an extremely conservative high powered NYC lawyer. He hated hillary but gave to both sides of the aisle. Common practice.

Disavow “ Make America Awesome’ , Ted
They used sleaze to promote your campaign
So disavow them

Just like you sanctimoniously insisted that Trump disavow the KKK because David Duke made a favorable comment about a policy
Like Trump knew about that or had any control or any involvement with it

Disavow “ Make America Awesome’ Ted
( crickets)

That’s not a disavowal. That’s a denial.

A disavowal would be on the lines of him stating the add was despicable and a low blow.

He did nothing but deny he did it.

I’ve already linked to two separate articles showing where Cruz said it wasn’t his ad and that his campaign had nothing to do with it.

That is NOT the same as disavowing the ad, and you know it!

"It wasn't me" is just a denial. Disavowing means "It wasn't me and I DON'T APPROVE OF THESE TACTICS."

“No one likes Trump except for voters you mean”

Yeah that whopping 38% majority. *roll eyes*

How about his 70% negatives he’s toting around?

Oily Cruz at it again. Sling the mud then blame the other guy for things getting dirty.

“Cruz said it wasn’t his ad and that his campaign had nothing to do with it.
Sorry, but that isn’t a condemnation, just a denial. “

Apparently the oh-so-intelligent Cruz crew can’t make the distinction between denial and disavow.

Not one Cruz supporter can point to any statement by Cruz where he condemns the smearing of a candidate’s wife. Not one.

I don’t see the attack here. It’s a GQ photo shoot she did. It’s been on the internet since the day the GQ Mag was released. They even give you an option. Meet your next First Lady or vote for Cruz.

If trump thinks this is in poor taste, he needs to have a long talk with his wife. It was a modeling photo shoot. A photo shoot that she volunteered to do. It is public knowledge that she did some almost nude modeling....

I don’t get it. Not an attack in my mind. Nothing that hasn’t already been seen by millions of people.

Yet another Trumpbot moving the goal posts when the truth hurts their little pointy head.

Typical.

Cruz says blame for the events ‘in any campaign responsibility starts at the top.’

You reinforce my point about how similar Cruz is to Clinton. Trump should hold his fire, not allow himself to be baited, and politically bury, so to speak, Cruz, Romney, etc. by winning.

They know damned well that PAC isn't controlled by the Cruz campaign, but they perpetuate the BS anyway.

Then why are there no PACs for Trump after Trump said he did not want any PACs supporting his campaign? Trump put out the word no pro Trump PACs and guess what there are no pro Trump PACs. The Cruz campaign is responsible for the actions of the pro Cruz PACs. He could shut them down just like Trump shut his down. Cruz is a slime ball.
