Politico: Marco Rubio Rejected ‘Unity Ticket’ with Ted Cruz
Breitbart ^ | 03/22/16

Posted on 03/22/2016 6:17:29 PM PDT by Enlightened1

Alex Isenstadt writes in Politico:

Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX)  campaign has been exploring the possibility of forming a unity ticket with ex-rival
Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL) — going so far as to conduct polling looking into how the two would perform in upcoming primary states.

The motivation, hashed out in conversations among Cruz’s top aides and donors: to find a way to halt Donald Trump’s march to the Republican nomination.

It’s unclear whether Cruz’s campaign brass views a partnership with Rubio as realistic or quixotic. In Rubio’s orbit, according to three sources, it’s seen as an outright nonstarter — with Rubio telling his team he isn’t interested.

Yet in recent weeks, within Cruz’s camp, talk of a joint ticket has run rampant. Utah Republican

Sen. Mike Lee (R-UT), one of two senators to endorse Cruz, has emerged as an outspoken supporter of a unity ticket — and as a potential broker. The freshman, according to several sources briefed on the talks, has reached out repeatedly to Rubio to gauge his interest, but has been rebuffed.

This is the self-important press creation for headlines.

No basis in fact.

He has far better political instincts and knows a connection to Beck through Cruz would limit him on a national ticket.

Rubio may be a RINO shill but he knows enough not to get anywhere near Cruz when the establishment throws him under the bus.

Looks like Cruz is starting to look for an exit strategy that leaves him
intact.

If he helps the GOPe steal the nomination from Trump, Cruz is finished.

Rubio is finished politically. He was finished politically the day he was yucking it up with his Gang.

The American citizens were not nearly as amused as the Gang was with their treason.

You nailed it!

I don’t understand how Cruz supporters think VOIDING THE VOTES and essentially STEALING Trump votes is going to translate into a victory for them?

If the GOPe is dumb enough to do this, then I will never vote for a Republican again. They are not an opposition party and do not represent the Will of the Republican voters.

Cruz will be dumped by the GOP if he succeeds in causing Trump to go short of delegates to the convention. Cruz is deluding himself if he things he will carry any weight once he has helped the GOP accomplish their goal. They will substitute anyone but Cruz. He actually believes that he is getting all this support when in reality they are using him just like they tried to do with Rubio. Rubio fell short so they pressured him out to start using Cruz. Mark my words Cruz will not get nominated to another thing. If he is uncooperative at this point they will threaten to expose his duplicity. It’s like he went to the Dark Side and sold out

I keep hearing Cruz bots say the same thing you did . Did Cruz write a script for all of you?

Every Gope Creep like Lindsay graham, Romney , Megan mcain, Fiorina , niki Haley all and more have endorsed Cruz. They are all against Trump . It's the world establishment and Gope against Trump and they all have endorsed Goldman Sachs Canadian Rafael “ted” Cruz. so now all of these gope stooges and their donors are going to go back on their word and who is the replacement? you people think we are 5 years olds or what. Trump is An American businessman . Enough with lawyers like Cruz, politicians who have destroyed America and no immigrant Canadians like Cruz.
