Ted Cruz lashed out at Donald Trump.
Well, I will say, it is striking that the day after Donald Trump called for America weakening NATO withdrawing from NATO we see Brussels, where NATO is headquartered, the subject of a radical Islamist terrorist attack. Donald Trump is wrong that America should withdraw from the world and abandon our allies. Donald Trump is wrong that America should retreat from Europe, retreat from NATO, hand Putin a major victory and while he’s at it, hand ISIS a major victory.

Wow. You can see that Cruz’s words were measured. He thought a few seconds before lashing out at Trump. He sees irony between Trump’s words about NATO versus the Brussels massacre. Oh my. Bad move Cruz. Brussels is still identifying dead bodies and Cruz is bashing Trump????? Is Cruz deliberately trying to lose??? I no longer see Cruz the same way.
Cruz was laying out a policy difference - Trump is an isolationist, Cruz is not. Trump laid out his isolationist stance just yesterday at a Washington Post roundtable.
If you can't deal with your can [sic] with your candidates propensity to blame Trump ...
If you can't understand Cruz was not blaming Trump, but was highlighting a policy difference, you're highlighting the lack of intellectual rigor so many conservatives here and elsewhere have lamented among the Trump crowd. You are FEELING, not THINKING, and that's no way to make a rational decision.
And again, I'm actually sympathetic to Trump's position! But you and your comrades aren't doing Trump any favors when you post utter bull$#!^ accusing Cruz of blaming Trump for something when Cruz clearly didn't.

What Trump should do is highlight something else Cruz said today about restricting entry from certain countries. Trump has advocated that for MONTHS. Cruz said it, Trump said it first - both then being honest and a clear policy discussion, rather than made-up crap as in the original posting.
As always, Ted Cruz turns this “Nato members need to contribute more”
into this: “Trump wants to pull out of Nato”

It was in libbylu’s opus a couple of months ago when Cruz was still a viable candidate. She appeared to be zotted for a while but let back in, demonstrating admin’s greater grasp of mercy than I have. To be fair to libbylu, she has not gone in that direction since.
There was also some drone who would only post that anyone who did not support Cruz was against Jesus and against America; that was it, over and over.
I’ve not seen any Trump supporters cross those lines, though I may have missed some.
I will agree with your basic point that the rhetoric needs to be dialed back, but the knives came out some time ago, and whether they can be sheathed at this point I don’t know.
