Chris Christie
In an announcement that surprised almost everyone, Christie endorsed Trump in February.
As Trumps running mate, Christie could be an effective attack dog against Hillary Clinton.
A Trump-Christie ticket would also reinforce the narrative that both men are tough Washington outsiders who tell it like it is.
Rick Scott
When he ran for Governor of Florida in 2010, Scott self-funded his campaign and spent upwards of $75 million of his own money.
Scott, who recently called for his fellow Republicans to coalesce behind Trump, could help the New York billionaire in Florida -- a key swing state.
Scotts personal wealth, career in finance and governing experience could also be a plus for the ticket.
Ben Carson
Carson could energize Christian and evangelical voters to turn out for Trump.
Carson first came to national attention in 1987 when he successfully separated conjoined twins. In 2013, Carsons conservative critique of health care in the United States, standing near President Obama at the National Prayer Breakfast, brought him back into the national spotlight. His own presidential campaign also boosted his profile.
Jeff Sessions
Jefferson Beauregard Sessions III has been active in national politics since before Marco Rubio and Ted Cruz graduated from high school.
Prior to his election as a senator 1996, Sessions served as an Assistant U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of Alabama and later was appointed by President Reagan to be the U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of Alabama in 1981.
Sessions experience in the U.S. coupled with his expert knowledge of foreign policy could ease voter concerns about Trump being too inexperienced on matters of national security and how to work with Congress.

Allen West
Allen West or Carter Ham would be great picks, check out former Chairman of the Joint Chiefs, retired General Peter Pace, USMC - a finer and more moral leader you will be hard pressed to find!
Those are all good points. I’ve always liked Newt.
Herman Cain... he’s been in Trump’s corner from day one.. He’s a strong conservative.. he knows the ins and outs... he’s black (f that matters to anyone) and a most congenial and fair man on his radio show every day. He answers caller’s questions and he never lacks the knowledge to explain.
Bernie Sanders as VP would cut Hillary off at the knees.
I will not vote Trump and a rino. He is already way to liberal and I do not trust him to keep a single word. As it is I see him as a huge rope-a dope and a rino will prove that.
so, we blame you for hillary
I think Trump is going to pick someone no one is expecting. His campaign so far has repeatedly demonstrated out-of-the box thinking.
I was speculating someone like James Webb. If not VP then for SecDef. Could put Virginia into play since Trump seems well poised for Florida and rust belt states.
Scott Walker would be an interesting choice. Young and proven to be able to withstand the left, fight and win.
Allen West.
I agree, it would be typical of Trump to surprise everyone. Webb also I’m sure has some inside knowledge of how the senate Democrats operate and could put Virginia into play.
Hey. Is there anybody West of the Mississippi ??
All of these people, seem to be an hour from DC by plane. Media, candidates, etc.
Well, J.C. Watts has the conservative convictions. But I am not sure how many people he would draw.
I agree. Maybe not with the individuals you named, but I suspect it will be someone very few people are talking about now.
Like when McCain picked Sarah Palin.
Sorry, but Scott has zero popular appeal or charisma. He rode in on the anti Obama coattails. He’s not been bad as a governor. But he’s very creepy.
Susana Martinez was my choice from the get-go. She initially over-reacted to his first statements on immigration. That can be walked back considering all that has transpired these past 8 months. My guess is they’re already in discussions.
None of the above.
I’m with you on Martinez; have been for a long time.
My other fave is Scott Walker, who has beat the bastards 3 times and left ‘em lying in the ditch. They threw everything they had at him, including thugs, and he beat ‘em cold.
How bout Alan West?
Half the people on this thread won’t agree to run with Trump. He knows who they are and won’t ask them.
Trump / Hunter would be an awesome ticket, Congressman Duncan Hunter Jr. of California is a combat veteran, a true conservative, and his Dad (also a combat veteran and one of the original Reaganauts of 1980) served us all well when he was in the House.I like choices that bring some new or alternate set of voters to Trump's camp where he might otherwise be a bit weak against Hillary.
Your idea for DH Jr seems VERY good. I think a lot of mid-westerners and west-coasters feel they have little or nothing in common with New Yorkers.
DHJr overcomes the anti-new-england sentiment, and helps bring in YOUNG people! (plus, in addition to the reasons you mentioned)
I also like Michelle Bachmann of MN ... She's tough against liberals!
and Allen West might be a great pick too...
I could really get behind a Trump/West ticket.
