Ted Cruz on Wednesday mocked Donald Trump for bowing out of a debate next week in Salt Lake City, and the Texas senator vowed to call out the GOP front-runner at a gathering of a major pro-Israel lobby group next week.
Trump said earlier in the day that he would not participate in the Fox News debate in Utah on Monday, and John Kasich quickly said that he wouldn't attend if Trump didn't. Later on Wednesday, Fox News formally canceled the event.
Trump said he would use his time instead on Monday to address a conference hosted by the American Israel Public Affairs Committee, the prominent pro-Israel group. Cruz's campaign said in a statement Wednesday that Cruz would use his time at the same conference to "highlight Trump's positions -- or lack thereof -- in front of the thousands of AIPAC members in attendance."

I really resent that ad nauseum personal attacks on Cruz seem to be allowed again and again here at FR but responses to those attacks are not allowed by moderators .
i disagree with what the moderators are doing here. I think the moderators here should allow us to criticize trump for being anti-conservative. We should be able to defend a candidate like Cruz on this site.

This site has for more than a decade allowed decent politicians to be torn to rhetorical shreds for not being sufficiently conservative. It is quite clear that Trump is not conservative.
it seems obvious to me that we are in a highly regulated environment now where criticism of Trump is almost completely disallowed while cheap shot ad hominem attacks rain down on the boards against Cruz.
I still like my candidate Ted Cruz.
I think the Trump supporters have the same irrational attachment to their candidate that Obama supporters had. There is no reasoning allowed.

It's clear Trump is scared as hell to go man-against-man with Cruz in a policy debate. It would be no contest - Cruz would wipe the floor with Trump.
Trump is very smart to retreat to his safe space where he can tell his followers how great he is without having to step into the ring with a world class intellect like Cruz.

Actually those are the indicators of a second rate lawyer. A really fine lawyer writes clearly and succinctly and marshalls indisputable facts to make his case. I think we may be learning that Cruz is not such a first rate lawyer as he is cracked up to be.
