Ted Cruz on Wednesday mocked Donald Trump for bowing out of a debate next week in Salt Lake City, and the Texas senator vowed to call out the GOP front-runner at a gathering of a major pro-Israel lobby group next week.
Trump said earlier in the day that he would not participate in the Fox News debate in Utah on Monday, and John Kasich quickly said that he wouldn't attend if Trump didn't. Later on Wednesday, Fox News formally canceled the event.
Trump said he would use his time instead on Monday to address a conference hosted by the American Israel Public Affairs Committee, the prominent pro-Israel group. Cruz's campaign said in a statement Wednesday that Cruz would use his time at the same conference to "highlight Trump's positions -- or lack thereof -- in front of the thousands of AIPAC members in attendance."
"Let's be intellectually honest about what's going on here -- Donald Trump is scared to debate Ted Cruz next week,"

FOX hosts actual debates? News to me. All I have seen from them thus far are grade school playground ambushes by bullies
Good for Trump. It was only a ratings show. Just how many debates do we need? No more. Enough is enough.
Just about every other breath out of Cruz’s mouth these days is an attack on Trump
All that said, if I were Trump, I would reach out to Cruz— as odious as I find him— and negotiate to have him placed on the Supreme Court.
If the GOP and Ted Cruz keep fighting against Trump and twisting his record as they are, and keep at it, we might not have enough time to repair the damage. By continually bashing Trump and fighting him so desperately, Cruz and the GOPe are working to help Hillary win the white house.
I used to have a healthy respect and like for Cruz. With each day, my contempt grows. He’s a duplicitous opportunist.
Oh, Ok. Come up with something new.
I am getting the image of Cruz as the dust following Pig Pen around.
Cruz knows the debate was Megyn Kelly and Fox News last chance to ‘Got ya’ moment Trump. So teddy and just get lost...
Primary Strategy - Vote for me or you’ll get Trump
General Strategy - Vote for me or you’ll get Hillary
Primary Strategy - Trump is just like Hillary
General Strategy - Hillary is just like Obama
Where is the vision for the country?
Please laugh at my jokes mainstream media.
Israel is more important than campaign gamesmanship. Trump made the right call.
the more Ted Cruz talks the more I can see he is just another lawyer. I used to like the guy and was willing to excuse my belief that I should not vote for any lawyer for political office . They twist the truth , they nuance reality . It’s their job , the practice of deception is their avocation .
I am sorry to admit , but Cruz is no exception . Cut of the same clothe .
I’m not sure AIPAC is interested in hearing losing Ted Cruz attacking the winning Donald Trump at their conference
I mean what’s he going for, the Israel vote?
It’s not a debate hosted by Israel, , Ted
Surely in these times they have more serious issues to talk about
And to hear from each candidate about
Teddy is talking himself out of any chance at VP.
Honestly at this point I think Trump should be talking to Rick Santorum about the VP position. He would be very acceptable to the party and a lot of people like Rick.
Trump is not reaching out to everyone. He has been alienating us Constitutionalists for a long time. Without us, Trump wont win.
Ted Cruz is a slimy and dishonest. And that’s being charitable.
Maybe not??? Maybe Megan Kelley would have won????
Kasich doesn’t have the chops for a one on one with either Cruz or Trump.
That being said, this Christian should be very careful about attacking Trump here. He clearly has Israel credentials and it won’t go over well with them.
Trump, or any candidate for that matter, is not obligated to dutifully show up to debate after debate after debate simply because Fox wants to generate more ad revenue.
Trump has been nuked twice by the MSM on the KKK stuff and Chicago. And he came out smelling like a rose. Cruz can’t lay a finger on him.
